my only opinion on mainstream media feminism / misogyny discourse is just. wow you really do see like 20x more discourse about female characters maybe being misogynist than male characters.

#like the whole shtick about beth harmon in the queen's gambit being a Male Fantasy because she was pretty & wore dresses in the... 1960s #& sometimes slept with people. like TQG had problems for sure but. nobody ever mentioned she was almost canonically autistic & was. #obviously deeply traumatized.... all discussion is like. She Is Hot. Is She Male Fantasy. Misogynism Wins! #im pretty sure i've seen more talk about cruela deville (or however you spell it) in these past 2 wks than kylo ren in the entirety of #entirety of my tumblr experience #(kylo ren being the Most Controversial of male villains on tumblr......) #(i have zero opinion about the cruella deville stuff i didn't even know there was a movie coming out & i haven't give a shit abt #101 dalmations since i was 8 years old. so i just. have no opinion.) #(im just alarmed at the shear breadth & quantity of The Discourse on all of this)
