“ didn’t think you were going to be bothered by it. ”   words were noted in feigned absentmindedness, attempting to disguise the ulterior motives to his conversations earlier in the day with a certain stranger by the side of the hotel’s pool. when opportunity presented itself on a silver platter, he could not trust himself not to succumb to the temptation to make him just a tad jealous. stifled was the grin pulling at the corners of his mouth in satisfaction.   “ so what if he’s tried to slip me the key card to his hotel room? you’d really think i would spend the night there instead? ”   at those words, head did cock to the side as if in contemplation of his own proposal before he could no longer curb the grin from widening across his features.   “ because unless you changed your mind, you’ve got me until exactly nine in the morning tomorrow when your brother starts knocking down my door. ”

impatient knocking sent luca cursing under his breath towards the front door of his apartment, and with an irate tug the door swung open to reveal the familiar face of someone he did not expect to see.   “ to what do i owe the pleasure? ”    he quipped immediately at the sight of his ex boyfriend, eyebrows drawing together in what resembled a faint frown. perhaps part of him wished it was someone else there, different familiar face coming to see him. but the other part of him was relieved to avoid the imminent confrontation between them. deep sigh then slipped past his lips as he pulled the door open for him, faint nod of the head implying he was welcome to come inside.   “ but seriously   —   not that it isn’t nice to see you, but i don’t assume you’re just here for a coffee. ”
