Jack, Robert and Katie clean up the house (and add flowers) to prepare for Diane getting out of hospital. Robert and Jack talk about Frank and their concern over letting Victoria play outside when he’s just there. Len is frustrated about the hassle Frank is getting (he’s done his time) and has no plans to go to the village meeting to get shouted at. Diane is self-conscious about her body and doesn’t want to be touched. Note: One scene has been moved up to keep the 2nd clip focused on the Frank Bernard story.

These scenes focus on a village meeting, headed by Viv, about Frank Bernard and how to deal with him (basically they want him out and away from their village). Edna walks off as there is no reasoning with the lot of them. Ashley is appalled by the mob mentality (a rock being thrown through Pearl’s home) and he’s speaking out not as their professional vicar but as an ordinary decent man, for what’s it worth.
