Episode 82: A Really Redundant Recap

A (slightly) self-sabotaging Val, A nostalgic (but definitely happier than on previous eps) Juls, a TOTALLY UNCANCELED Lupe, and obviously TONs of fuckin' Angst, sounds familiar? Let's get to it shall we?:

Aren't Juls Parents the cutest? Look at them being all happy and supportive and LUPE-Reloaded teasing Juls about contacting Val! I love them, Also next time I need a new place on 2-days notice I’m giving Panchito a call, I mean for 48 hours he truly outdid himself, just remember to never sit on his couch lol.

Inspired by Guille and Renata's "Fuck YOU, We're In Love" display from the previous ep Val decides to get some loving on her own and goes to look out Juls ...Only to find out she's no longer there lol, PERFECT TIMING.

Poor gurl is so distraught...If only she could find a direct way to comunicate with Juls, If only the comforts of modern society allowed us devices that help us reach out to others ANYWHERE at ANYTIME ...If only....

NO SERIOUSLY VAL, just grab your damn phone and call her dammit XD.

Just to make matters even ANGSTIER, now Chivis is getting floral arrangements from Juliana Valdes herself. Did you see how fast Val snatched that note from Chivis?, she even LITERALLY punches it lol, that's what you get when you ask for space, and people actually RESPECT and LOVE you and LISTEN? Keep in mind you can always CALL people and ask for less space apart and more time together, just sayin'...  

Normally Val is the one gaydreaming but to see Juls-Stoic-Extraordinaire go into full flashback mode was A LOT, and THAT scene in particular UGHHHHH...

I've posted about it in the past but THAT scene to me is the perfect example of why Juliantina works so well: they both came into each other's life at a time of struggle and forced reinvention, and they've helped each other uncover and embrace parts of themselves that were hidden or had been forcefully covered.

One of these was Juls creative talents, Val not only enthusiastically points them out, but actively supports and encourages Juls endeavours, even using her privileged lifestyle to support and create real opportunities for her.

Thats what Val brings, a chance for Juls to allow herself to dream of being something more than a hitman's daughter, a chance to believe in herself, of not being burdened by her past or anxious about her future, of LIVING instead of surviving...where have I heard that before? uhmmmmmm...

Sometimes Love is described as finding your other half, but I think a better interpretation would be: Love is finding the one that helps you feel WHOLE, and Juliantina has that shit in SPADES (Just get back together already!?).

I love how they both try to play it cool talking about groceries and flowers and Lupe even brings out Val a second time (Bless her) Until they just crack up, JULS SMILINGGGGGGG!! its been 84 years guys! its so nice so see them like this, I knew the Suegra wouldn't dissapoint in the end, also Juls ....DONT' SIT ON THAT COUCH GURL XD.

I KNOW a lot of people feel a certain way about him, but he's NEVER been a real threat to Juliantina (NO ONE could be lets be real lol), keeping into account him & Val have been friends since childhood I find actually believable they still talk and manage to be relatively friendly with each other, especially after Lucho's death.

Is it awkward they were both crushin' on the same gurl? YEP, 

is it awkward they both got some action (In both cases consensually although under VERY DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES) with her as well? Absolutely! 

But I do think its fitting for Val to still be reeling a bit about Lucho's demise, it makes her feel REAL, people don't get over shit like that in 2 days, you know? and he's the only one she can talk about it with.

It also serves as the perfect plot device for them to engage into the paranormal side of the main story line plot, so Sergio may not be the people's fave choice (I DON'T care for him TRUST ME), but character wise it is a very coherent one. 

 Listen... Soul Switching Dads, Corrupt Rich Girls Sleeping with Narcos, Transmigration, Half the cast pretending (sometimes with HILARIOUS results) to have native Mexican accents, THAT... I CAN Believe, but for some reason the whole "let's Google Search a Medium" and THEN getting Barbara the Bruja right away felt like a bit of a stretch to me?

I really thought they were gonna connect Val to this plotline a liiiittle bit better, I guess I'll wait until they actually meet to see how it actually goes.

Also Im just gonna ignore DEATH staring at Val 'cause I can handle just a certain amount of drama per episode,ok?

I KNOW they are supposed to draggggggg the dramaaaaaa out till LITERALLY the Final EP, but dammit, this ANGST is crazy. I'll never judge an Abuela screaming at a TV EVER AGAIN.

Also on one of the latest interviews released, Maca and Barbara agreed that their favorite Juliantina moment is the ending, and Maca said It had a lot of guts....WHAT ARE THEY GONNA PULL!? Hype? ...Hype.

4/5 eps to go, I better start thinking what I’m going to do with this blog (and the existential crisis it will have) 5 days from now, back to random reblogs of funny shit I guess? lol.
