Transitional Custom Home Design

It’s always a good day when you start it by seeing a home built by one of my favorite Canadian builders, Veranda Estate Homes (previously featured here & here). They’re truly creative and they often design things that you haven’t seen before. In my opinion, Melissa, the owner and designer, is a trend setter and it’s always a pleasure to share her work on Home Bunch. Here, the designer share more details about this transitional custom home.

“This custom home was designed and built specifically for our amazing clients and their new little one. They originally wanted a more traditional design for the home but after seeing our other project, Elbow Park, they decided to take the interior and exterior of the home in a different direction… a more modern one.

They were absolute dream clients that allowed us to create an amazing home with so many unique and beautiful details throughout. While both clients are busy professionals we only had to meet a few times throughout the entire construction since everything was confirmed via email. Great communication with a lot of trust created an amazing end product!”

Hello, my wonderful friends! How are you today? We are having a very busy week and this weekend should be really special because we will be celebrating our youngest son’s birthday. I really can’t wait for it!

Now, before I leave to start baking a “Funfetti” cake, I wanted to share this new-construction cottage by Patterson Custom Homes (previously featured here, here, here, here & here).

This is the type of home that will make you feel inspired. The interiors have a coastal farmhouse approach featuring many ideas that are current but also timeless. The exterior features classic architetcural details mixed with edgier elements such as black windows and a metal roof.

French Interior Design Ideas “Interior Design Ideas” is a popular weekly series on Home Bunch and it usually features many different homes and many different interior styles, but I decided to feature a house tour today after receiving the photos of this newly-built French home. The homeowner, Brittany Jones, who is also the interior designer and photographer, contacted me and I couldn’t be happier. Her home is impeccable and you can’t help but fall in love with its details. This beautiful French style home is located in the heart of West Texas. The expansive single story 4,300 square foot floor plan was designed by Brit Jones Interiors and architect Tyler Gentry, of 17 Services. It was built by Scott Lane Homes. You are immediately greeted with a stunning staircase leading you into a foyer filled with unique and one-of-a-kind french antiques. The interiors also feature a neutral color palate with pops of soft blue and traditional furniture styles. I haven’t seen a tailored home like this one in some time and I really think you guys will love it as much as I do. French Interior Design Ideas This French-style home exudes timeless architectural details and plenty of curb-appeal. The home features a foyer, dining, living, kitchen, den, 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 half baths, den, playroom, private office, large mudroom with wrapping room, courtyard and expansive lawn in front and back. Shutters Shutters are rough cedar painted in Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue and made to look weathered with sand paper. The homeowner painted them herself! Front Door Black steel and glass front doors are custom made – 10 foot tall. Brick Exterior Brick: Mangum Brick in Country French color with white mortar. Stucco Instead of regular stucco the homeonwer did a “brick slurry” where they did the stucco over the brick in a hand finish instead of a sprayed finish. Color is a custom tan finish. Trim Color Dark Exterior Trim Paint Color: Sherwin Williams Seal Skin. Roof Roof is Tamko Thunderstorm Grey. Windows Windows are Pella Aluminum clad in bronze. Stone Exterior stone is Castlerock stone in a mix of cream and white with white mortar. Lighting Front Lanterns are Troy Larchmont Lanterns in hand forged iron in Age Pewter finish. Welcome Home! The black steel double doors open to a stunning French foyer. Foyer Paint Color White French Interior Paint Color: Sherwin Williams Alabaster. Chandelier: Aidan Gray Sconces: Aidan Gray Blue Chair The blue foyer chair is a French antique. Antique Door The barn door in the foyer is a true antique door from France. Get the Look: Drapery All window coverings are custom motorized drapes and shades from Susan Cannon at Budget Blinds. Brittany, the homeowner, loves her drapes! Chairs and ottoman are from Wisteria. Details Foyer drapes are a French Blue with a custom embroidered banding on a French rod. Dream Kitchen & Dining Room This French-country kitchen and dining room are full of beauty and character. Backsplash The herringbone backsplash is reclaimed bricks from a building in Chicago. The homeowner took it all the way up the wall to make it more dramatic with the custom cast stone vent hood. Hello, my dear friends. How are you today? I hope you’re feeling well, having a good day and are healthy. That truly is the most important thing we can have in life.

We had a great weekend here. It’s funny because I really can’t believe we’re approaching the end of yet another year. Is time going by too fast just for me or do you feel the same? How do we slow down? Perhaps it’s by doing what we really love more often – and not only what we need to do. For me, seeing inspiring homes with beautiful interiors has always been one of my favorites things to do, and this home, beautifully built by New Old LLC (previously featured here), is a great way to spend my time.

Custom Home with Artisan Craftsmanship Interiors

Recently built by Chatham Legacy, a high-end custom building company in North Atlanta, this 5,000 sq ft custom home was featured in the Atlanta Parade of Homes in the Ashley Hall neighborhood in north Atlanta. This custom home is nestled on over 2 private acres to recreate the romance of the old family homeplace complete with pea gravel drive, Bevolo gas lanterns, raised wrap-around porch and stone fireplace. Inside, the home is designed to blend modern conveniences with the artisan craftsmanship of days gone by.

French Interior Design Ideas

“Interior Design Ideas” is a popular weekly series on Home Bunch and it usually features many different homes and many different interior styles, but I decided to feature a house tour today after receiving the photos of this newly-built French home.

The homeowner, Brittany Jones, who is also the interior designer and photographer, contacted me and I couldn’t be happier. Her home is impeccable and you can’t help but fall in love with its details.

This beautiful French style home is located in the heart of West Texas. The expansive single story 4,300 square foot floor plan was designed by Brit Jones Interiors and architect Tyler Gentry, of 17 Services. It was built by Scott Lane Homes.

You are immediately greeted with a stunning staircase leading you into a foyer filled with unique and one-of-a-kind french antiques. The interiors also feature a neutral color palate with pops of soft blue and traditional furniture styles.

I haven’t seen a tailored home like this one in some time and I really think you guys will love it as much as I do.

French Interior Design Ideas

This French-style home exudes timeless architectural details and plenty of curb-appeal.

The home features a foyer, dining, living, kitchen, den, 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 half baths, den, playroom, private office, large mudroom with wrapping room, courtyard and expansive lawn in front and back.

Shutters

Shutters are rough cedar painted in Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue and made to look weathered with sand paper. The homeowner painted them herself!

Front Door

Black steel and glass front doors are custom made – 10 foot tall.

Brick

Exterior Brick: Mangum Brick in Country French color with white mortar.

Stucco

Instead of regular stucco the homeonwer did a “brick slurry” where they did the stucco over the brick in a hand finish instead of a sprayed finish. Color is a custom tan finish.

Trim Color

Dark Exterior Trim Paint Color: Sherwin Williams Seal Skin.

Roof

Roof is Tamko Thunderstorm Grey.

Windows

Windows are Pella Aluminum clad in bronze.

Stone

Exterior stone is Castlerock stone in a mix of cream and white with white mortar.

Lighting

Front Lanterns are Troy Larchmont Lanterns in hand forged iron in Age Pewter finish.

The black steel double doors open to a stunning French foyer.

The barn door in the foyer is a true antique door from France.

Drapery

The window coverings are custom drapes and shades from Susan Cannon at Budget Blinds. They are drapes on French radius rods with motorized wove. Brittany, the homeowner, loves her them!

Chairs and ottoman are from Wisteria.

Isn’t this one of the most beautiful French kitchens you have ever seen?! Its design and choice of materials are impeccable.

Backsplash

The herringbone backsplash is reclaimed bricks from a building in Chicago. The homeowner took it all the way up the wall to make it more dramatic with the custom cast stone vent hood.

Kitchen vent hood is sprayed cast stone material that is custom-made in place.

Kitchen countertop is Honed Arabescato Marble.

Brick Flooring: Reclaimed bricks from an old building in Chicago. The designer/homeowner found the bricks from a vendor in Waco, Texas who sources the brick directly from a brick cutter in Chicago.

The color palette of this bedroom is a dream!

I haven’t seen a tailored home like this one in some time and I really think you guys will love it as much as I do.

Interior Design Ideas: House For Sale

Hello, my wonderful friends! How are you today? Are you being able to enjoy your summer so far? I feel this is one of the busiest times of the year for me. The kids are off school, which means the house gets much louder, but much more complete, and I usually work a lot on new interior design projects. But this time of the year is not just busy for me, studies show that most moves happen during the summer, after selling their home during spring. I can’t complain about where we live, but if I was looking for a new home and moving to Illinois, this house, which is currently for sale, would be on my list!

AK Construction’s unconventional spin on a modern farmhouse was designed to be a true show stopper. This property was originally being built as a spec home but was swooped up early on in the construction stages and became a one-of-a-kind dream home for a family of four. This 6,626 square foot home is nestled on a picturesque street in Menlo Oaks, California.
