Gustavo de Arístegui expressed his respect for the decision of the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi.
Madrid : The PP spokesman in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Congress of Deputies, Gustavo de Arístegui, expressed his respect for the decision of the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, not to appear in the next general elections, describing him as “an ally and  an old friend "within" the family of the European People's Party "
In his statement, Arístegui ascribed the announcement made by Berlusconi in an interview with the newspaper "La Reppublica" to "a personal decision" that he will have coordinated with his party, designating the current Minister of Justice, Angelino Alfano, as his heir, and that the PP  Spanish "cannot help but respect it."
In this sense, the popular spokesman wished the Italian prime minister "the best in his new stage", after the "fatigue" that comes from having governed for so long, and did not want to enter into analysis of internal politics and judgments that correspond to the  Italian citizens.
He did express his closeness to Berlusconi by referring to him as "a long-time ally" and an "old friend" of the Spanish PP, within the "family" of popular Europeans.

Gustavo de Arístegui, the external affairs expert examples the ways to strengthen bilateral ties
The Make in India initiative by the government of India is an additional opportunity for the countries to strengthen their economic ties with India. Gustavo de Arístegui also find it as an opportunity to put an extra bond in the relationship by not just transferring technology, but developing things together.
The Spanish investment in India is over $1.3 billion and India’s total investment is about 605 million euros. This key relationship needs a further bond and make in India is the best opportunity for Spain to capitalize, feels Gustavo de Arístegui. Spanish companies are pitching in sectors like infrastructure, transport and energy, areas in which Spain has proven powers. Seeking to give a strategic cast to bilateral ties, the two countries have inked defense pact that entails, among other things, exchanging defense-related experience, information, encouraging visits of personnel, collaboration in the defense industry and other similar areas of cooperation.
Tumblr media
Gustavo de Arístegui is excited and reckons that it is not only about transferring technology and building together in India, it is about developing technology together. He has a very clear Idea about this and want this to be a fulfilling partnership, based on trust, mutual respect and mutual beneficial conditions. Many Spanish firms have shown an interest in selling high-tech weaponry to India. Spanish defense companies such as Indra are already engaged with the Indian armed forces in the areas of radar and communication.
The C-295, which is 100% Spanish, that has got approval by the government for the Avro’s replacement in the Indian Air Force. This is the first Make in India project. The Indian authorities have noted that Spain is a world player in a lot of aspects that have not been taken into account before. Spain is the sixth largest industrial defense country in the world.
Gustavo de Arístegui keen interest in empowering the bilateral ties between the countries made him investigate to many areas seeking a new idea. His investigation has made happen many new ways of strengthening the ties with India which includes teaching of Spanish in India, cooperation in smarty city project of India etc. The investigation made by Gustavo in each policy help him crack a new way to power the bilateral cooperation. And the development of new technologies together is the latest fruit of this investigation.
Spain is definitely willing to share good practices and partner with India on the smart cities journey it has recently embarked upon. I am enthusiastically and personally involved in promoting the twinning of the two capital cities, Madrid and Delhi. There is also an R&D and co-creation dimension in our bilateral co-operation, as Spain and India jointly manage several industry-driven R&D initiatives in promoting and financing joint projects in fields like ICT, cleantech and Smart Cities.
In today’s fast-paced operational scenario, a supply ship can be a much-sophisticated combat support ship, and due to Gustavo’s vission, Spain would be happy to be involved from the design to the building stage. He believes that Navantia’s S-80 Submarine, which is in the final stages of construction for the Spanish Navy, could be a good reference for the P-75I. Navantia forms part of the Scorpene India consortium with DCNS of France. It is providing design and transfer of technology to Mazagon Dock Limited to build six Scorpene submarines for the Indian Navy under Project-75.
The Indian Navy was planning to build tankers to look after big ships like the aircraft carriers and some LPDs like INS Jalashwa, as also six more diesel-electric submarines with AIP. The Spanish submarines, designated S-80, are using an innovative AIP system to charge fuel cells, similar to those in the US space shuttle programme.
Navantia has an MoU with Larsen and Toubro (L&T), which is already working with the Indian Navy in heavy engineering and has built parts of the indigenous nuclear submarine INS Arihant and the fast attack craft (FAC) built by Goa Shipyard. Navantia and L&T are working jointly on building four LPDs like INS Jalashwa for amphibious military operations and disaster relief for the Indian Navy.
The Spanish company Indra has a significant presence in India, where its radars control most of the air space. The company holds almost 90% of market. It is the biggest player in air traffic controls systems. Indra is the biggest in that sector in the world; even in Germany, they have an overwhelming share and in Europe, it is 60 %; and in the US, 35%. Spain has some of the most advanced systems of air traffic control, some of the most advanced civilian radars and systems.
The P-75I is a very attractive programmed for us. It involves the design and construction of six AIP submarines under a quite interesting industrial arrangement with a compromise between ‘Buy’ and ‘Make India’. The first two submarines are meant to be built at the designer’s facilities abroad and the remaining four submarines will be built between Mazagon Dock and Hindustan Shipyard. The P-75I has been on the table for quite some time already and Navantia has responded to IN’s request for information (RFI). We are now waiting for the request for proposal (RFP) to be issued before the end of this fiscal year.
Additionally, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) commissioned Indra to modernize Delhi’s air control center, one of the country’s most important centers and from which one of the greatest air traffic areas is managed, including operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Arístegui censure the US strategy in Iraq
Alameda Del Valle – The PP spokesman in the Congressional Foreign Affairs Committee, Gustavo de Arístegui, said that Iraq has become a battlefield for terrorism due, in part, to the strategic errors of the United States. “Dissolving the Iraqi Army has been one of the greatest stupidities that could have been committed in the recent history of world geopolitics, and dissolving the security services and the police,” he said at the International Journalism Course organized by EL PAÍS, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the BBVA Foundation.
The popular spokesman, Gustavo de Arístegui, said that the decision of the former US civilian administrator in Iraq until last week’s handover ceremony, Paul Bremer, to dismantle the Iraqi armed forces after the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime is to blame for much of  the insecurity situation in Iraq, and argued that at least 95% of Iraqi soldiers should have remained in their posts after the arrival of the Americans, withdrawing only those with criminal records or those who had a special connection with  the previous regimen.
“90% of the security problems of the Sunni triangle come from the dissolution of the Army,” insisted Arístegui, who added that to these strategic errors is added having supported Ahmed Chalabi, the Iraqi leader who until recently has been the best friend of the Pentagon in Iraq and on whom the suspicion is now hovering that relevant information may have passed to Iran. “Now they [the US government] realize that he is public enemy number one. They could have realized this before,” he said.
Arístegui also assured that the torture committed by US soldiers was a “shortcut” in the fight against terrorism that “has given fuel to the radicals.”  In his opinion, these methods never work.  He also defended the search for the causes of terrorism in order to combat it. “The United States is obsessed with operational issues rather than addressing the causes of terrorism,” he said

What Gustavo De Aristegui’s thinks about it | French elections
Gustavo De Arístegui has expressed his opinions on the French elections. He explained his views on the French elections and what he thinks of them. He explained how the elections that take place in French are a kind of illness that has been constantly spreading in the entire world.
The introduction of political leadership
Gustavo De Arístegui has also said that there has been degradation in the political leadership of France where hardly any country is an exception as no country is an exception. Some of the cases are where the neo-Nazi ideology is coming out of the place of shame that has been fueled by the disgusting faces of ignorance, racism, hatred, bigotry and what not. For instance, Gustavo said that the North of Europe is the democracy’s flare that severely got attacked by this very deadly disease.
Gustavo De Arístegui said that there has been an entire paradigm shift that gave rise to the horrors of injustice, nationalism, radicalism, populism and more. He then went on to express how some of the toxic situations have led to this. Here the toxic situations are referred to as the sense of feeling among the middle classes that they are being left behind, birth and increase of nationalism, instability in politics.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, the French administration’s great corps was endangered as it underwent a very dysfunctional crumbling of very poor quality of the ruling elites. According to Gustavo De Arístegui, leadership is nothing but a quality that has no sense of credibility as opposed to what the forefathers with political backgrounds in the democracy used to say.
Gustavo and his questions
Not just that, Gustavo raised some questions that are sure to raise some eyebrows in the group. Some of his questions are ‘Why do some of the bests get passed by, shoved away or even kicked out?’ ‘Why do people of greatest quality shy away from public service?’ ‘In many countries where middle management of parties are taking over leadership, many come from nowhere and have no ideological or moral compass?’ and more.
Gustavo himself clarified that the answers to these very questions lie in the situation where the radicals desperately need polarization. This very polarization can only be achieved when the people of the society are successfully manipulated by the political parties. This answer justifies how carefully he has observed the mechanism that the French elections follow.
The power of education
There is no doubt that the debates that were taking place were way far better than the rest of the countries but the catch here is that they were very exasperating. Thus in a way, it can be said that the entire political elites in Europe have no sense of authority. The political lightweights that Gustavo discussed means lightweights with no experience, vision, values, CVs or even a decent roadmap for the respective countries.
Gustavo De Arístegui also said that in these modern times of technology, education should hold the major portion of authority. But in reality, everything is happening exactly the opposite. The French political system has created a loophole and through this very loophole, populism is controlling the souls of the society.
They control by altering the right information and manipulating the people of society He also pointed out everything that is going wrong on both sides of the Atlantic and he did that by addressing issues such as the optimum level of irresponsibility, violence in nationalism, populism along with all the geographical risks in the Atlantic’s both sides
Plans for future
Gustavo De Arístegui further went not expressing his views on the future which according to him is doomed as he said that he sees a future that is purely faded. Along with that he also said that within no time, the danger that is knocking at the doorstep may give birth to conflict as well as overall instability that may or may not last for centuries irrespective of whether or not the surface things look decent.
This is why Gustavo De Arístegui has said that the condition of the region is in desperate need of leaders that can deliver right and crystal-clear principles, ideas and more. The leaders who can deliver these will be able to create a stable situation that has been threatened with the constant fear that the 21st-century bullies have created.
These were the views of Gustavo De Arístegui on the French election. He tried his best to address the French elections and how everything is wrong with the election mechanism. He also helped the people to get familiar with populism, political elites and such. In his article, he also said that though the entire French election is nothing but a type of illness, it acts as the main cause in Europe.

The love if jihadist over Kashmir, Gustavo de Arístegui. Gustavo de Arístegui
opens up on the daunting factors of jihadist terrorism Gustavo de Aristegui, the former spokesman of Popular party and the Spanish ambassador to India, rightly points out the factors that keep Kashmir as the attraction of global jihadist.  Gustavo de Arístegui, from his investigation, says that Kashmir is an attractive cause’ for global jihadist. He had an article written about combating terrorism referring to this. He feels that some of India’s friends have not understood the Kashmir problem—those who have wanted to stay ‘neutral’ dubbing the Indian State as ‘disputed territory’, or those who have analyzed it exclusively as Indo-Pakistani struggle to control all of Kashmir. India’s enemies call it an occupation. But there must be very clear idea: Kashmir is an integral part of India, as part of its inalienable right to national territorial unity and on the basis of this conviction he wrote the article. According to Gustavo de Arístegui’ experience and investigation, anyone who claims to fight for a noble cause and commits murder, torture or extortion is a terrorist, and also those who are passive co-operators or accomplices. Terrorism generates instability and poverty, and hinders growth and development. Many fail to see the overlaying layers of reality that coexist in Kashmir: Kashmiris who are devoted and patriotic Indians and proud of their Kashmiri identity; the Kashmiris who are clearly separatist, but do not support violence; those who are separatists, but support or condone violence with their silence; and the different kind of so-called militant groups which range from street violence to full-fledged bloodthirsty terrorism. While some of these are Pakistani proxies, others take advantage of the constant Pakistani interference in Indian internal affairs. Some of these calls themselves Kashmiri nationalists, but many of these are ultra-radical Islamists and not a small number of these are clearly jihadists, the ideology that fuels and inspires terrorism. The majority of Kashmiris are loyal citizens of India, but are also proud of their old culture, as others across the nation. Being proud of one’s origins does not justify separatism, when the majority of your fellow citizens reject it, and it can never ever tolerate terrorism. From his experience, Gustavo de Arístegui feels that for decades, the main source of violence and terrorism was Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). They have constantly claimed that they were Kashmiri nationalists of Islamic inspiration, when in fact they are jihadi terrorists with a radical Islamist ideology and a nationalist excuse. Investigations also proves that these terrorist group has their link in each and every place where they cannot be even noticed. This new breed of terrorists wants to change the traditional terrorist strategy and its narrative. Abu Dujana and Arif Lelhari were trapped in a house by Indian security forces, they allegedly recorded messages pledging allegiance to Al-Qaeda—a turning point that should not be taken lightly. This has prompted stern reactions from the traditional terrorist organisations, the HM and LeT; they issued statements that the involvement of international groups would dilute what they consider a struggle to shake Indian rule over the state. Kashmir is a very attractive ‘cause’ for global jihadist terrorism. As has happened in so many other terrorist-stricken territories, global jihadists try to take over by taking advantage of the instability and ongoing violence. The atmosphere is already there, they just need to change the perspective of those that are most radical, but a good part of the job is done. Gustavo warns that we must bear in mind that jihadist terrorism, not only is a murderous machine, it is one of the daunting factors of economic, political and social destabilisation in the world. Operational efficiency and intelligence have to be combined with politics. Embrace the Kashmiris—who repudiate terrorism, who feel a part of India—bring them to the fold of peace, and make separatists again a minority among the Muslims of the state. According to Gustavo de Arístegui, Kashmir is a very attractive ‘cause’ for global jihadist terrorism. As has happened in so many other terrorist-stricken territories, global jihadists try to take over by taking advantage of the instability and ongoing violence. The atmosphere is already there, they just need to change the perspective of those that are most radical, but a good part of the job is done. National court had made significant judgements to counter terrorist attacks, Gustavo de Arístegui.
Gustavo de Arístegui comes from a long standing diplomatic background, his father and grandfather were both senior diplomats posted as ambassadors in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
Mr. Arístegui next to his native Spanish speaks English, French and German, and is interested in all the international issues that are related in any way to Spain, international security and strategic issues, terrorism, European affairs, Islam and the Arab–Israeli conflict. His English is impeccable as becoming of a scion of a diplomat family. His father, the then Spanish ambassador to Lebanon was killed in another withering artillery exchange between Christian and Muslim gunners in beleaguered Beirut. He had seen man many acts of terrorism and is the eminent personality to comment on the same.
Gustavo de Arístegui, the former ambassador of Spain in India , said that India has its ears to the ground on the developments in Afghanistan ahead of the 2014 drawdown of international forces and is “more than prepared” to face any challenges .
Gustavo de Arístegui said in Afghanistan the Afghan troops and forces are readying to take over after the international forces’ drawdown with the Taliban presence looming in the background. There would be some international experts and some international troops remaining to assist the Afghan forces.

                                     Gustavo de Arístegui
Gustavo de Arístegui outlined terrorism and fanaticism as among the major challenges in the world. There cannot be any justification for terrorism or the ideology of fanaticism.
National court of Spain is of the view that combined forces are necessary to put an end to terrorism. Those that think that terrorism has any kind of justification or that fanatical ideologies are grounded on some kind of oppression, if we think that, then we have already lost the battle of reason gustavo de arístegui said the ten terrorists who on Nov 26, 2008 held India’s commercial capital hostage for three days, were “fanatical terrorists” and the fact that they held ground for over three days showed “they were extremely well trained assassins, they knew exactly what they were doing… That is another kind of terrorism we will have to suffer more and more.”
He said the “fight against terrorism cannot be the fight of a single nation”. Indian national court had made significant judgements to counter terrorist attacks.
Spain had to suffer terrorism for over 50 years… Spain has developed channels to cooperate intensively and effectively with Indian authorities and different security services and agencies in the fight against organize crime and terrorism,” he said.
Spanish National court Prosecuting Glorification of Terrorism Too Strictly Since 2015 as a means to eradicate terrorism. They find that by justifying such cruel acts, they are sending a wrong motivation to the mob.  It has been five years since the amendments took effect on 1 July 2015, making an assessment of their impact timely. It has also been more than three years since the EU issued Directive 2017/541 on combating terrorism. This directive contains a provision on glorification of terrorism and requires the European Commission to assess it in 2021. But this intervention by the National court can be misused and can be an obstacle in the path of right to expression.
He also outlined manipulation of the financial markets by vested interests as another major challenge for the world. He said there are some elements who influence markets and attack the currencies of some countries to fatten their purses. From his view all Countries along with their national court and leaders should pass stringent laws to fight against terrorism.

According to Gustavo de Arístegui, National courts uphold the values of humanity and pave the way for a strong democracy
Democracy is a very complex system. It is the distillation of centuries of dictatorships, oligarchies, monarchies and political violence harshly opposed to the human aspiration to freedom and social development. According to Gustavo de Arístegui a considerable part of mankind has been able to break the chains of oppression and the world consecrated human rights as the most important engagement of humanity with itself to defend each and every human being as an equal. This seems simple and is taken for granted by those who have never lived under regimes that have tortured and murdered their own citizens. Primarily those who question democracy will question National courts in future. This is why questioning the essence of democracy, where it is a solid pillar of society, is dangerous and profoundly undemocratic.
Tumblr media
Democracy is even more complex in large and diverse countries such as the US and India. In the US, it is impossible to rig an election because there are 50 elections across 50 states, each with different populations, demographics, history, political traditions, and even voting systems. We have seen in other countries undemocratic sore losers question their defeat, triggering instability, havoc, and sometimes even a civil war says Gustavo de Arístegui. But not in an advanced democracy such as the US. But what is pathetic is to call foul even before the game is afoot. Imagine Brazil claiming its semi-final with Germany was rigged before they lost 7:0 at the World Cup. Sore losers in sports are disturbing, in politics outrageously perilous exclaims Gustavo de Arístegui. This goes beyond the electoral systems, where the will of the people needs to be respected. This said, the extremes have a tendency to try to hold the moral high ground that is in no way theirs. The sole motive of the extremists is to drill a hole through democracy and shatter the National courts. Those who question democracy, from the extreme left to the extreme right, are the true enemies of liberty.
If there is a country that knows about diversity in democracy, it is India, not only as the world’s largest democracy, but also as the world’s most diverse nation. There is not a single Indian state that is comparable to the next, much less those that are thousands of kilometres apart. Nobody, with all the super computers in the world, could possibly rig an Indian election. No other place can conduct an election where almost 875 million people participate. India’s elections are not a miracle, but a rock-solid example of the nation’s engagement with democracy and its values claims Gustavo de Arístegui. The National court of India also upholds the values of humanity and paves path for a stronger economy.
An election can be a rough competition—rivals can become irreconcilable enemies—but the voter has to be spared this confrontation. This is not going to be the case of the US presidential election. The tone and message of the Republican nominee has become the lightning that could well ignite a democratic wildfire. The National court has to look into these messages. What kind of scars are these wounds going to leave behind?, questions Gustavo de Arístegui. The first lesson any politician has to learn is that there is nothing more important than the greater good, the protection and defence of the liberties and rights of the citizens and the nation’s inalienable interests. This is not the case of 21st century politics, and definitely not of the 2016 US elections and specifically of the Republican nominee.
Gustavo de Arístegui also feels that the national court should have a separate team to monitor the elections. We are going to face some of the most challenging times of recent history, and we need real politicians with values, principles and a solid commitment to the defence of their nation, their people’s liberties and world stability. This may sound utopic, but it’s the only way that today’s world can defeat terrorism, violence, instability and oppression. Too many of the citizens of democratic nations think that what they have is a given. This is the shortest path to disaster. Democratic leaders can have and do have many human flaws; the only one that is unacceptable is that they surrender to the horrors of tyranny.
