27 Imo Youths To Attend JPI Annual Leadership Conference in Rwanda

Jamie Pajoel International (JPI) has announced the 27 Imo State youths selected to attend the 4th edition of the JPI Annual Leadership Conference in Kigali, Rwanda. The conference is part of the JPI Global Exchange Program, which aims to foster leadership skills, entrepreneurship, and nation building. The conference will take place from the 17th to the 20th of August 2023 at the Marriot Hotel Kigali Rwanda. The selection was based on merit, with the aim of identifying youths with a high sense of purpose and great leadership skills. The selection process acknowledges the participants' desire for leadership, entrepreneurship, and nation building. JPI congratulates those that made the list from the 27 Local Government Area of Imo state. This selection is a testament to their outstanding leadership skills and commitment to purpose-driven living. JPI recognizes the desire of these participants to make a positive impact in the world. The conference provides participants with the necessary tools, resources, and networks to turn their dreams into reality. APC Sweeps Imo Council Elections
APC Sweeps Imo Council Elections The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission has declared candidates of the All Progressives Congress as winners of Saturday’s local government election across the state. Mr. Ethelbert Ibebuchi, chairman of the electoral body, announced the results of the polls on Sunday at the commission’s headquarters in Owerri. He said that 13 political parties fielded candidates in the elections across the 27 local government areas and 645 wards in the state. He said that the APC won all but four councillorship positions while five wards were stood down because of irregularities. He said the Accord, Rebuild, People’s Redemption and KOWA parties all secured one councillorship position respectively in the election. He listed the wards stood down to include Mbano ward in Oguta local government area, Amuzu ward in Isu local government area, Eziudo ward in Ezinihitte Mbaise and Umuhu ward in Aboh Mbaise. Ibebuchi said the APC chairmanship candidate for Aboh Mbaise local government, Chidi Nwaturuocha polled 15,411 votes to emerge winner, with Mr Adolphus Onuoha emerging victorious for Ahiazu Mbaise local government having polled 10,382 votes. Others winners include: Nwosu Reginald for Ehime Mbano local government polling 12,811 votes, Chioma Onwumere for Ezinihitte local government with 15,954 votes and Joy Ezebuiro scoring 40,746 votes to win chairmanship seat for Ideato North local government area. Also elected were: Osuoji Emeka for Ideato South local government with 17, 407 votes, Jude Mbachu for Isiala Mbano with 25,235 votes. Metu Chukwunyere emerged victorious in Ikeduru local government with 15,798 votes, Bonaventure Okafor got 18,118 votes to clinch the chairmanship for Ihitte Uboma council, while Nwadike Chimezie polled 9,981 votes to win in Isu local government area. Bertrand Mbah and Obinna Chinwe got 42,417 and 18,108 votes respectively to win in Mbaitoli and Ngor Okpala local government areas. Chizoba O. Chizoba won in Nwangele local government area with 13,465 votes while Kenneth Obioha won in Njaba local government area with 17,494 votes and Mbagwu Augustine won with 13,403 votes in Nkwerre local government area. Okezie Paschal won in Obowo area council with 15,073 votes while Gerald Mgborokwu won in Oguta council with 63,566 votes; Amadi Ebenezer emerged victorious in Ohaji Egbema council with 39,938. Clement Onwumere won in Okigwe local government with 12,322, Augustus Chikezie won Onuimo local goverment with 17,318 votes and Ikechukwu Onyegbule for Orlu local government area with 42,979 votes. Okonkwo Kingsley won with 16,809 in Orsu, Duru Evaristus won with 13,444 in Oru East, Udemba Obi won in Oru West with 7, 269, while Joseph Agor won in Owerri Municipal with 20,071 votes. Vitalis Anyaegbu won in Owerri North with 10,435 votes while Oduh Chidi won in Owerri West with 8,116 votes. Ibebuchi commended the 13 political parties that fielded candidates in the election. He also commended the security agencies and other democratic institutions for showcasing “affirmative inter-agency relationship and synergy” during the election. The chairman however appealed to the state House of Assembly to make a law that would confer nominal community status to Registration Areas in large communities without cogent status to enable them qualify for ISIEC wards. He also urged participants with genuine grievances to take up their cases at the elections petitions tribunal that is already in place.   Read the full article

7 years of plying Gwagwalada road came to and end on 21July, 2018. There were many times I drove half sleeping from town to Christ the Kings College, Gwagwalada. First my first son Favour graduated from there last year, this year it is my second son. This post is just to thank God that my boys started well and ended well there. The challenges both the boys and I as well as the rest of the family went through in these 7 years was not moimoi!! My younger sister Chinwe Okafor hear am ooo. I want to thank all that in one way or the other made this journey worthwhile. Teachers and management of Ckc Gwagwalada, God bless💓💓💓💓. It was very nice doing business with y'all. 13 incumbent Senators, Reps lose seats in Anambra

A total of 13 incumbent National Assembly members from Anambra, have lost their seats, except Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) who represents Anambra South. This happened in the aftermath of the conduct and consequent announcement of the Feb. 25, elections result by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The breakdown, showed that two senators and all the 11 House of Representatives members in the state, lost their seats at the National Assembly. Out of the three senatorial seats, Labour Party (LP) got two, while YPP got one; and out of the 11 House of Rep seats, LP clinched six seats, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won four seats while YPP won a seat. Sen. Uche Ekwunife and Sen. Stella Oduah, both of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who represent Anambra Central and North respectively, lost their seats to candidates of LP, Sen. Victor Umeh and Mr Tony Nwoye. In Idemili North/South Federal Constituency, Mr Obinna Chidoka of PDP, an incumbent who had occupied the seat for 12 years, lost to Mr Uchenna Okonkwo, a first timer, who contested under the platform of LP. In Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency, Mrs Lynda Ikpeazu to of PDP, who occupied the seat since 2015, also lost to Mr Emeka Idu of LP,. while in Ogbaru Federal constituency, Mr Chukwuka Onyema of PDP, lost to a LP candidate, Mr Afamefuna Ogene. In Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Mr Vincent Ofumelu of PDP, lost his seat to the candidate of APGA, Mrs Maureen Gwacham, while Mr Chinedu Obidigwe of Anambra East/West Federal Constituency, lost his seat, Mr Peter Udogalanya of LP. In Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency, Mr Ozodinobi Ibezimako of LP, won, while the incumbent, Mr Dozie Nwankwo, who went for Senate, lost to Sen. Umeh of LP. In Orumba North and South, Mrs Chinwe Nnabuife of YPP, defeated Mr Okwudili Ezenwankwo of PDP, while in Aguata Federal Constituency, Mr Dominic Okafor of APGA, won, while the incumbent, Mr Chuma Umeoji of PDP, contested for a seat in the Senate and lost. In Nnewi North/South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Mr Uchenna Eleodimmuo of APGA, won, while the incumbent, Mr Chris Azubogu of APGA opted to contest for Senate, and lost, while in Ihiala Federal Constituency, Mr Chudi Momah of PDP, lost, while Dr Pascal Agbodike of APGA won.
