DR. PATRICK SWONKE, DDS
Swonke Family Dentistry was founded in 1988 by Orthodontist and Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Patrick Swonke. Dr. Swonke earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at the Houston School of Dentistry. He then went on to complete his training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Studies. He was recognized as "America's Top Dentists" per the Consumer's Research Council of America in 2011, awarded the Patient's Choice Award in 2012, and named "America's Top Dentists" again in 2014.
He has been committed to providing his dental patients the most exceptional General, Cosmetic, and Orthodontic dental care. He is a certified Invisalign provider and one of a handful of dentists in Texas to provide Propel orthodontic treatment. Not only is Dr. Swonke a family dentist and orthodontist, he also provides cosmetic dental procedures. Veneers, Implant Crowns, Bleaching, and Cold Laser Treatment are a few of his specialties. He has also been trained in Botox administration. He excels in meeting patient's expectations in maintaining a comfortable and caring environment in his dental office. Dr. Pat is a family dentist to the full extent of dentistry.
Dr. Patrick Swonke lives with his wife, Tracie, and has three adult sons. Tracie is the owner of Anything Bling Boutique in Vintage Park and four other locations. Dr. Swonke enjoys traveling, watching movies, and playing the drums, of which he used to be a percussionist-drummer.

Dr. Maxim V Skormin
Maxim V Skormin, DDS has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years. He pursued undergraduate studies in computer science at the Polytechnic Institute in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He then attended Broome Community College in Binghamton, New York, for electrical engineering and biological and chemical science, finishing in 1991.
Dr. Skormin graduated from one of the top dental schools in the country, the School of Dental Medicine, SUNY, at Buffalo, NY, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1995. Following in the footsteps of his ancestors, among whom are a prominent heart surgeon, a pediatric doctor, and a founder of an oral pathology university in St. Petersburg, Dr. Skormin has treated over 20,000 patients for every aspect of general and cosmetic dentistry, with emphasis in cosmetic crowns and bridges, dental implants, and Invisalign® braces.
Dr. Skormin has received advanced training in implant placement and site development from the NOVA School of Dental Medicine in Florida. He has also received training in mini-implants under Dr. Todd Shatkin at the Mini Implant Center of America. He is a certified provider of Invisalign® and Lumineers®, and a member of the American Dental Association.

Meet Dr. Tom Hedge
Dr. Hedge is widely known as one of the top-notch cosmetic dentists in the United States. Dr. Hedge received his Bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio where he majored in biology and chemistry. While studying at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, he conducted research resulting in the publication of seven abstracts and one paper, and received numerous awards at the state and national levels.
After graduating from dental school, he completed a general practice residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. This advanced education included training in anesthesia, pediatrics, emergency medicine, geriatrics, TMJ treatment, endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, prosthetics, and implantology.
Dr. Hedge is nationally recognized not only for excellence in clinical programs, but for sound business practices that make full use of the newest technologies in dentistry. He is an alumnus of the renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, as well as the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. MEET DR. JOHN KRELL
Dr. John Krell is a native Houstonian who comes from a family where four members have become dentists. It was only natural that he would pursue a degree in dentistry as well. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston and then went on to dental school at the University of Texas. After graduating in 1989, Dr. Krell joined his brother, Dr. Bill Krell, at his dental practice. Then, in 1996, Dr. Krell acquired Dr. Charles Goolsbee’s dental practice after he retired. Throughout the years, Dr. Krell has built his practice into an ultra-high-tech, state-of the-art office where he can offer his patients the best possible dental care in a very relaxing atmosphere.
A UNIQUE PHILOSOPHY
The key to Dr. Krell's growing success has been combining conservative methodology and technological advances. With his ongoing pursuit of continuing education for himself and his team, everyone has the opportunity to stay abreast of the latest advances in dentistry.
MEMBERSHIP AND ACCOLADES
Dr. Krell is close to achieving the Fellowship Award with the Academy of General Dentistry, and he is also working on his Mastership Award in the AGD. Additionally, as a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Greater Houston District Dental Society, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Krell stays very active in the dental community.
Dr. Krell is also a member of the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce. He developed and chaired the healthcare committee, and he was on the Board of Directors for six years. During that time, he received numerous awards, one of which was the Distinguished Director Service Award for his volunteerism to the community and for his long-term work for the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Krell has participated in and sponsored many fundraisers. He and his wife Stephanie are active participates in the Fund for Animals and the SPCA (the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). They have also hosted fundraisers for Toys for Tots and have been Mr. And Mrs. Claus for Covenant House. They both enjoy giving back to the community.

Through his participation in professional organizations, education, community, church, and family, his balance of professionalism and ethics stands tall. Meet Dr. Glenda G. Owen
GLENDA G. OWEN, DDS
Dr. Owen has been in practice since 1981, when she graduated from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. She also has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from UT Austin (1971) and a Master in Public Health from UT School of Public Health in Houston (1974). Prior to dental school she worked as the Public Information officer for the City of Houston Health Department. Dr. Owen, after working as an associate in two different practices, opened her own solo practice in 1995.
She is a lifelong learner, often completing 100+ hours of continuing education each year. She is on the faculty and the boards of advisors and directors of the L.D. Pankey Institute for continuing dental education and has been on the faculty of Spear Education, dental continuing education institute. In addition she was part time faculty at UT School of Dentistry, Houston, 1982 -1990.
She currently serves on the board of the Greater Houston Dental Society and chairs the scholarship committee. In addition to the local, state and national dental associations and the Academy of General Dentistry, she has been inducted into the American and the International Colleges of Dentistry. When she is not at the office, Dr. Owen enjoys reading, hiking, and travel. She and her husband, Kevin Dubose, an appellate attorney, have been married since 1981. They have two grown sons, Travis and Ryan, and have lived in a 1907 Victorian house in the Heights since 1982. Travis and his wife, Rachel, have a daughter, Grace, who was born in March 2016. Ryan and his fiancé Carolyn Hippard, will be married in October.

Meet Dr. Marilyn Jones – Biological Dentist
A natural drive for excellence emerged early in Dr. Marilyn Jones’ academic background. She graduated from Pasadena High School with honors. Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos accepted her into their freshman honors program. With a minor in English and a bachelor’s degree in biology-chemistry, she earned a teaching certificate and taught high school chemistry in Texas. Upon receiving a master’s degree in chemistry from University of Houston, Dr. Jones embarked upon a PhD program in science education, supervising student teachers. Initially an assistant professor of chemistry at San Jacinto University, Dr. Jones eventually held a similar role at University of Houston.
Dr. Jones’ mother, who was a nurse, instilled deep health-related values in her daughter, igniting a lifetime passion for healthcare. Dr. Jones’ dental career began in earnest with acceptance to University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1979.
Since that time, her thirst for knowledge has never been quenched. Dr. Jones continues to study dentistry and related advances in healthcare to provide the highest level of modern dentistry possible. She has studied extensively with Dr. Omura, a recognized pioneer in therapeutic acupuncture, and had the privilege of assisting him in 19 years under this tutelage. She has presented with Dr. Omura at conferences across the globe, teaching his Bi-Digital O-Ring test technique. In 2010, she spoke, as Visiting Associate Professor of Holistic Dentistry in the International College of Acupuncture and Electro Therapeutics, at the Japanese Symposium in Tokyo and at the Symposium at Columbia University in New York.
Other mentors, influential in Dr. Jones’ journey into biological dentistry include Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, Dr. Hal Huggins, Dr. Jerry Bouquot, and Bob Jones.

Dr. Reinholtz is the owner and director of Portal Family Dentistry & Orthodontics. She has a passion for dentistry and helping patients by fulfilling their needs.
