Im rewatching nhie and I absolutely adore Devi. I know I talk about Ben a lot, but I wanted to just list all the things I love about Devi.

Her passion

Her competitive spirit

Her desire to have her mom be proud of her (that part makes me cry every time)

Her love for her dad

Her love of music

Her guts (asking one of the most popular boys in school to have sex with you. Iconic!!)

She is a genuinely loving and caring person.

She’s a good friend I don’t care what anyone else says.

Her work ethic

How absolutely beautiful she is

Lastly, I just want everyone to remember that Devi is a 15 year old girl who has been through so much trauma. Her dads death devastated her so much that she literally lost the use of her legs. She stopped playing the harp which is something she loves. She spent her first year of high school being pitied by her classmates as well as by her best friends. Her relationship with her mom was pretty much destroyed. She has been through so much and she is extremely emotionally fragile yet somehow keeps going. Stop criticizing her for being a messed up teenage girl, while praising her love interests for breathing. If I see another post calling Devi “bitchy” I’ll throw hands. Lastly, Devi is an icon and deserves all the love in the world. I hope this season they have her actually work through her trauma.
