Any more headcanons for that oneshot you made where Bill is Ford's familiar? How does Ford react to Bill getting close to his nephew? How does Bill use this to his advantage? If Dipper can't get a slice of Bill's power, how does his magic shape up in the end?
Sure, why not!
This got longer than I wanted, so it's under a read more. Also, here's the link to the snippet in question.
I think that Dipper and Bill end up hanging out a lot, honestly. Dipper's a lonely guy, and Bill's bored out of his angles, so he's going to be on at least sorta decent behavior, since Dipper's providing more entertainment than he's had in decades. (Ford is unaware of this)
Still very much Bill, though; he absolutely tries multiple tricks in the book to try and get Dipper to break him out, or subtly trick him into getting Ford into a fatal accident. Dipper's been warned, though - I don't think any of them work!
Eventually Dipper gives in and offers a deal: He'll banish Bill back to his realm (He's been trapped in a basement for thirty years, no surprise he wants Ford dead, that sort of thing just straight-up sucks-) as long as Bill doesn't harm him or his family. Bill, once again in a terrible position to bargain, is happy to get the hell out of reality rather than be stuck in a circle for another decade or so.
This.... probably ends up in a pretty big fight between Ford and Dipper. Once he notices Bill is missing. If the Stans weren't already at odds, that'd be the kicker to set it off.
Little does Dipper know, but now that Bill's 'free' - he's gotten his stuff in order, hummed a little tune to himself - and decided it's the perfect opportunity to start courting that cute little mortal in earnest.

Gravity Falls S02E02 - Into the Bunker
"Into the Bunker" Ooh, mysterious. Are they going to discover Stan's... does his hiding place count as a bunker? I guess not. So, probably someone else's bunker! Let's do this!
I love that the jock looks like he's 30. It's a horror b-movie, of course he is old!
I love everything about this title card.
OH NO, did the horror spread to Gravity Falls itself making it a Wendy/Dipper episode!?
I felt in my bones that awkward silence before Wendy answered.
...what emotion is that supposed to represent?
THANK YOU FOR ASKING THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
aaaaaaaaaaghh why oh why
aw
Is that a br–
Yes, yes it is.
I have to admit that the "who" question didn't even cross my mind as too important until recently because I thought it was Stan related and why worry about something that can't even begin to be explored if the character himself can't get involved because it's supernatural?
But now? Now I'm intrigued. The only thing I know is that Stan can't be the writer, but he knew about the journals so it still has to be related to him somehow. But how did the journals get lost if he knew about them? Especially considering his portal required all the journals in a very specific position, so he had to know there were three of them and its contents.
Maybe he was present when the journals were being written? But he didn't know they had been written on with invisible ink. Hmm.
The same date as everything else that has happened. Something with the same energy as Stan's portal was also detected 30 years ago. But it can't be the portal because how did the journals get lost if they need to be present to open it?
And it can't be Bill because when Gideon summoned him it didn't trigger whatever machine the goverment was using to detect weird energy surges.
That was fast, I expected this to be relevant in like the finale.
I'm so weirded out by Wendy using a helmet. Rebel teen girl using a bike helmet. Safety first!
Even Dipper agrees with me.
Okay, Wendy is cool.
same
Ooh, I like that I can recognize this gesture as something Wendy does (from the haunted store episode I think) without having been used _too_ much. It's just part of her character.
I had to go back to Carpet Diem to check but the calendar in that episode was also set to 1982. I guess the show is set in 2012 and that would make it 30 years in the past?
Whoever the author was, they were very optimistic about their lifespan. There are supplies up to 2070, almost 90 years after 1982!
There's no way they are meeting the author this soon in the season, right? RIGHT?
Are those the symbols from Stan's portal?
oh _no_
_ooooh noooo_
why must you hurt me like this gravity falls
This episode is really playing with my emotions. I hate Dipper's thing with Wendy but the mystery is what I like the most about Gravity Falls. It's a rollercoaster and I'm not even halfway through.
I can't believe I thought the same thing as Soos.
I thought it was going to be typical "small monster big shadow joke" but nope WHO IS THAT GUY
REALLY? SO SOON? IS HE REALLY THE GUY? I DON'T BELIEVE HE'S THE GUY
Is the shapeshifter the guy and the real guy is gone?
hmmmmmmmmmm
Mabel's sweaters are killing it this season.
Yeah, it's definitely this guy. But did the author look like this or is it copying just some generic human?
Nope, the author's real appearance is still a mystery. * sad trombone *
This is not good. nope nope nope
well that's nice
oooooh a clue... that doesn't help at all. It does explain the hand in the journals though, that's something!
I can't believe it took the writers a entire season to show us this incredibly cool Wendy.
NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.
These kids are going to have nightmares for the rest of their lives.
Please tell me Dipper is not going confess to check who's the real Wendy.
I'm pausing this just to let you know that I let out an extremely nervous laugh when the camera panned to Wendy.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT'S THE THING! I LOVE IT!
well, that's creepy.
yup
Wow.
That was incredible! It made their entire thing the first season almost worth it! What a good way to handle it by Wendy. And it worked pretty well because Dipper had almost gotten over it on his own last season when he realized he was being kinda of a jerk. Persistent character growth? In my episodic cartoons? Can't believe it!
But damn, I'm really impressed by how well it worked. And it was all incredibly cute!
Oooh, mystery progress. I guess the author's name starts with F?
Code for "maybe in two episodes"? I hope not!
What are you talking about, Dipper!? All those movies sound amazing!
----
What a rollercoaster of an episode. The Wendy-Dipper plot has annoyed me from times immemorial but this was really good way to close the door on that. It's also one of the first times Wendy is _really_ part of an episode beyond being Dipper's love interest and that she's revealed as incredibly cool is just perfect.
The episode in general was really well done, and the fact that it also moved the plot forward makes it even better.
I just hope next episode Dipper doesn't get a crush on one of Mabel's friends... or Pacifica.
Until next time!
PS: I got only positive comments about posting one long post instead of multiple short ones so here you go. It makes things a lot easier for me when writing so yay!
