I saw your tags on the werewolf-biting post and while overall I agree, I really want to argue on Celebrimbor being high on the “would rather arrange to kill the wolf a different way” list. Celebrimbor may be a relatively moral, earnestly-seeking-cooperation-and-improvement-of-lives-of-others Fëanorian, but he IS still a Fëanorian, and moreover, whatever age you imagine Celegorm got Huan at, we can pretty much guarantee Celebrimbor is the only Fëanorian, indeed only Finwëan, to grow up with a giant dog as his honorary 7th uncle. Celebrimbor would be low on the list of likely to bite the throat out of a /person/, but a werewolf? A werewolf is FAIR GAME.
Look. does Celebrimbor think that a werewolf's throat is a just and correct place for his teeth to be? Absolutely! Nonetheless, if his teeth can reach a still intact werewolf throat, that is a sign that several layers of clever and carefully-wrought defensive measures have failed miserably. Quite possibly it means that other, less enthusiastically toothy people are now also trying to murder a werewolf with their bare hands! Just because Celebrimbor would take great satisfaction in doing it doesn't mean he wouldn't recognize it as a mode of failure.
In this, I think he takes after Curufin more than, say, Feanor. Under the right circumstances, Feanor (and Celegorm, and possibly post-Thangorodrim Maedhros on a bad day, likely at least one of the twins) would vault over his own fortifications for the pleasure of unarmed werewolf combat. Curufin and Celebrimbor (and Maglor, Caranthir, and hopefully at least one twin) would rather let the war machines on their battlements take care of things.
I feel like what we really need is one of those two axis gradient thingies. One axis is how enjoyable an individual finds unarmed werewolf combat, and the other axis is how likely they are to use unarmed werewolf combat as Plan A.
