Introducing Waldo, the baby Fahaka. ❤️

We picked him up on my birthday last week. I still miss Louie terribly, and honestly I am still quietly struggling with the grief. Our big boy was a giant part of my life and losing him so abruptly hurts.

But having this little dude around helps. He is literally so small that for the time being, he is living in the shrimp tank by my side of the bed. Once I’m done deworming him, he’ll step up to the 10 gal, and then hopefully the 180 from there! He’s had a week of settling but continues to be pretty shy. Louie was at first, too.

Starting over in a lot of ways, and still a bit leery as he will be a bit fragile for a while. But here he is!

It’s so funny to see him toddle out of his rock house in the mornings to see us when we approach the tank. He gets brighter as he wakes up.
