When the 10th Commonwealth Games were held in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 1974 General Motors New Zealand created 169 identical HQ KIngswoods with 4.2 litre V8 engines, Trimatic auto gearboxes, sports wheels, all finished in white with red and blue stripes. The cars were used as courtesy vehicles for teams during the games then sold on by Holden dealers throughout New Zealand after the games ended
