trying to figure out the science behind lore is hard
it also may be a mistake given that this is invader zim
not that it’ll stop me
of particular focus right now in my mind is Irk itself, and more particularly stuff like distance from it’s star, orbital path, that sort of thing
given that an Irken year is worth around ten Earth ones, and if we assume that Irk’s star is about the same mass as ours, that’d put it about the same distance away as Jupiter methinks, if a bit shorter
i can list the problems raised by that block of text, such as, for example:
1. why should we assume Irk’s sun is similar to our own
1b. the smaller it is, like a red dwarf, the less speed you need to move to hit that ten year orbit period but at the same time the smaller the habzone is
1c. the bigger it is the closer you can get while hitting that ten year orbit tho
1d. how old is the star and has it changed significantly
2. if the sun is earthy then Irk is outside of the habitable zone given a stable orbit
2b. what if Irk is in a highly elliptical orbit wherein most of the time it resides in the habitable zone before swinging in/out for a brief harsh summer/winter of some kind
3. do habitable zones matter/what kind of atmosphere is needed to create a habitat wherein life can form given the Jupiter distance away
3b. how earthlike is Irk’s atmosphere especially given that Irkens have violent reactions to pollutants
3c. is Irk’s sky red due to atmospheric elements, a red sun, or just IZ artstyle
4. why do human standards for life apply to an alien race - given that this alien race can blend in relatively fine with humans, given a wig and contacts
5. what if Irk had at least one moon and blew it up because that seems pretty fitting given what we know of the race and the one time we might have seen Irk during the great assigning
5b. moon explosions are cool
so on and so forth
i may be overthinking this
