New Year Notes

2015 Cheers to not only all the good times, but also to times that made us feel like sh*t this year 🍻.  

Whether it left a sweet memory, or a deep scar, this year is gone for good and there is no need to look back.

That being said, i'd like to thank all of u brothers n sisters for being there and helped me to enjoy the ride.  

U guys made the sweet sweeter and the bitter better.  

Sorry for being both an anal and an a**hole sometimes, but i hope i left few good memories that u'll remember for the rest of your life.  

I hope we learned from all the sh*t we've been through so we can do something about it in the new year.

2016 I guess it’s time to have another drink. Grab your whiskey or beer and join me for the closing time.

Not trying to be superstitious, but the year of fire monkey might not have been the best year for most of us.  Maybe it is because the fire metal (monkey) relationship where fire tries to destroy the metal, and bla bla bla...

Anyway, enough of the alcohol talk.  Like it or not, tonight, 2k16 is gone for good.  Despite everything that happened, i still don't think that it's time to sing a whiskey lullaby.  Gear up, and get ready to welcome the fire rooster (2k17).  Hopefully the rooster shows us some mercy and be our ally.

2018 2k18 had been an extreme year. 😂😭

The good: Some of our friends and relatives had an amazing year. As many of you have probably noticed, some couples around us had even tied the knot this year, and others had an awesome 2018 too. For everyone who had a kick-ass year, I’d like to say Congratulations once again 🎉

2020

This year is NOT about covid… Well, it is, but this year’s message isn’t.

It’s about changes🚏… it’s about being grateful🙏🏻… It’s about friendship🥰…

This year has changed my life... And my life has changed me, to the extent that I don’t even recognize the man in the mirror anymore (Well, maybe that’s because I shaved my hair👼🏻).  

Perhaps the most important lesson this year is about being grateful… and not just all talk… But really being grateful regardless what happened… This year made me realized that I am very ungrateful😭.  There were times when I knew that I should be grateful, but I wasn’t.  And for that I’m deeply remorseful and hopefully True Source can forgive me and guide me to a better path 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

To all my long-lost friends (and ex-foes) who chose to stick around, tolerating my childish behavior😅.  To that I am eternally grateful.  Thank you for the love, sharing, and healing. Thank you for all the late night and early morning wisdoms that you guys shared throughout the year.  AND thank you for Jalan Jalan🌎 Makan🍱…  No matter what happened in the world, This Is OUR Year!

What a year! The La Campanella🎶 of life has come to an end, as I’m still baffled and mesmerized by its perplexity and beauty.   Every year, each of us have our own version of carried over problems, as we seeks comfort in a peaceful resolution.  For those who still struggle, please know that you are not alone and I will always be there to support you in any way I can🙏🏻❤️.   Every year, I also talk about being grateful.  Though I still suck at it, this year I’m so grateful that I’m at peace with life. I found a closure,  I found a newfound home, and the best part, I finally found few things that I was looking for🏡!   Perhaps the highlight of this year is how it actually ends.  These few days have been some of the best days that I had in FEW YEARS.  Lots of fun surprises and impromptu encounter; and turns out, I’m not the only quirky kid in the house (Yes, I’m talking about you🦊)! It’s funny how a certain place or song, or even a scent can travel you back in time.  Just like how Debussy’s Claire de Lune always brings me back to my desk in 2065 California St, Mountain View 🏡 on a late December day, at around 4pm; or how Sunset Road Starbuck’s hand soap to a cold winter morning at Foothill College. 

But this year is special.  Looking back, this year has reminded me of the first breath of San Franciscan air that I took on September 4th 2011 at 23:45pm 🛬; the breath of freedom, as I began yet the best chapter of my life.

Everyone has their own definition of freedom.  To me, it is doing what makes me truly happy and not what the society is expecting of me.  I know that it sounds selfish and irresponsible, but trust me, if you are at least a half decent human being, what makes you truly happy might even bring joy to others, not the other way around. 

Just like how every year I get to sit down and write a New Year message 😃 It might not benefit anyone directly, but hey, at least you have something to read in the toilet tomorrow morning😂

So I guess what I’m trying to say is free yourself and live a truly happy life.  Everyone deserves happiness 🥰 

And if things goes south, you can always start over somewhere🛫  Worked for me in the past, so I don’t see why it might not work in the future😂
