What is Storyswap Color?

Well, I’m glad you asked, audience member! Storyswap Color is an Undertale AU by MrEpicIsHere777, FmsDraw, and Chip Potato based off another Undertale AU, Storyshift! It takes the base role shifts of Storyshift and swaps the characters in role pairs, which ends up with these role shifts:

Character > Role (Nickname)

Frisk > Frisk (Swappy)

Flowey > Flowey (Florescent, Mettaton Prime)

Chara > Papyrus

Asriel > Sans

Toriel > Alphys

Asgore > Undyne

Sans > Toriel

Papyrus > Asgore

Undyne > Napstablook

Alphys > Mettaton

Napstablook > Chara

Mettaton > Asriel

Okay, but that’s not the Storyswap I know!! What about Sprinkles Chara? Is that–

No. No it’s not. You’re thinking of Bluu’s Storyswap, which is a similar concept, but more or less a direct fusion with regular Underswap. Personalities are swapped/blended/mixed in her version. However, that is not the case in Storyswap Color. Personalities are mostly the same, only altered because of consequences of the role placements or events in AU. For example, while Asriel is still a lovable timid goat, he has elements of Flowey woven into him due to events that will be explained in his bio. He’s more cynical and quick to lashing out than normal Asriel. Chara is a lot more heated in their hatred for humanity as well and is very vocal and violent about it when it comes to Swappy.

Oh yeah, I played the Asriel Genocide Fight! Hey so, if you made that fangame, does that mean you’ll make a full Storyswap Color fangame?

Nope. There will not be a full Storyswap Color fangame, however as of writing this, there is one mini-comic out and an animation of the Epilogue. There might be more things that come out here and there, but no full fangame.

Wait wait… what if I make a fangame of Storyswap Color? Can I do that?

Well… yes, but no full fangames. I would prefer only battles. I don’t want misinformation being spread about the AU or battles being called “official” when they aren’t. Make sure to link back to this blog and try to stay as in-character with the AU as possible.

How about RPing the characters?

I personally would prefer you not to, as I roleplay the characters myself in many circles. However, I cannot stop you from doing private RP. Please no public Tumblr RP or anything, and definitely do not just copy and paste one of the bios to apply for that character.

What is this “Tantamount” AU that some of the bios mention? Where can I find more information about it?

Tantamount is a AU made by one of the members of our team, Fms. It follows SwapShift’s role structure, and it crossovers with StorySwap Color in canon, and it causes some of the characters to be affected because of it. Don’t worry, however; you don’t have to understand all of or like Tantamount to understand SSC, the universes are still separate, just connected. You can find more information about the AU here.
