#now I LOVE blackpink #I don’t talk about them enough on Tumblr bc im more involved on twt but let me fucking tell you its been a journey 😔💔 #I discovered them in November 2019 and I kinda got bored with them around hylt eraidk what was wrong with me #I went through a pretentious reveluv phase idk #anyways then ICE CREAM HAPPENED #and for anyone who doesn’t know ice cream was a very controversial release 😭 #first people were disappointed about Selena Gomez featuring on the song and then when the song was released #the bp solo stans (so the people who only like one member) all had an issue with the song #some were mad that a member didn’t rap some were mad that their favorite didn’t get enough lines #those same psycho solos were attacking one member Lisa for getting the most lines and rapping and SELENA GOMEZ ESCAPED UNSCATHED #and even with all of that drama everyone on stan twt was shitting on the song?! #like this was an objectively fine song nothing terrible nothing exceptional just something sweet and fun for the summer #but everyone wanted to act like it was nails on a chalkboard and that all of these other groups were superior #even though they released the same bs #anyways this whole ordeal led me to be like “I must defend blackpink on the internet" #because bp are always being criticized for releasing the same hip hop electro edm sound idk what to call it #but when they did something different everyone hated it for reasons I didn’t understand #so when lovesick girls came out it was like all my dreams came true because the people who don’t like them were just looking for a reason to #be disappointed with them and they just couldn’t without coming out as hypocrites it was so great #like that song was something completely different and so so good its a crowd favorite #so now that theyre coming out with new music im seeing people once again complain about their d4 style music #but its just like why should they try to please people who don’t like them? what’s wrong with them doing their signature sound? #why pretend to be disappointed when you don’t like them no matter what? #and at the end of the day that d4 type of music is good GOOBYE!
