welcome back to the writing side of tumblr! idk if you’ve written something like this, bc i can’t find your masterlist, but how would the assassins or at least my baby ezio act when they find out assassin!reader is pregnant with their child but still taking on missions and possibly putting themselves in danger, no matter how good they are at their job xx
Thank you it's good to be back. I missed you guys and your creative ideas lol I don't remember writing anything like this so there you go
Basim would be like nah nuh-uh. You say in bed and take care of yourself because in his culture a woman who is pregnant is sacred and needs to take care of herself. The most you can do is go to the market if you won't have any trouble with walking. If you're in discomfort - he will go with you.
Tumblr media
Eivor would try to explain to you the dangers of the missions as if you don't know already and would kindly and politely tell you to think about your child because he will be devastated if something happens to either of you.
Tumblr media
Alexios' jaw would just drop and he would have no idea what to even say. "Please don't." He would just say in a monotone voice but with the most pleading eyes you ever saw him pull off. He wants to say so much but doesn't even know where to start, because he was shocked when he found out.
Tumblr media
Bayek would sit you down and lecture you in a rather angry tone because he had flashbacks of when he saw his own son die so he will NEVER allow it to happen again. "I'm very disappointed that you don't know how to take care of yourself in this condition. What came over you?"
Tumblr media
Altair would cut you off mid-mission and would tell you to turn back or else. He will take care of the mission instead of you if you promise to not put your head in danger and don't be stubborn because he can be more stubborn and will not budge until you accompany him back to your home. No matter how long you spend in that one place he met you.
Tumblr media
Ezio would be like "WHAT" and chase you down hoping he isn't too late and would give you the lecture of your life. "You know you're more important to me than anything. Now that you are carrying our child, I will worry about both of you and will not forgive you if you put the two of you in danger again. The baby did not choose to be here. Think about it."
Tumblr media
Connor would be so disappointed. Honestly how will you look at him and still do it? He asked you to take care of yourself and rest and here you are putting yourself in danger. Usually he communicates everything but this time you get the silent treatment for at least a few hours.
Tumblr media
Edward would sigh and say "I ask you for one thing and one thing only. Stay. Out. Of. Danger. Don't you realize what you're doing?" He wouldn't show his true anger tho and would leave you with your thoughts for a few hours.
Tumblr media
Arno would pace around all day and when you come back, he will nag you to oblivion. "What do you think you're doing? Why? What do you want to prove? Is our child less important than the damn brotherhood? I can't stop you if you don't want to quit but at least think about what you're doing."
Tumblr media
When Jacob found out you want to come on the mission too, Evie begged him to tell you to reconsider. He just walked past the both of you like "Y/N you're not coming." in a stern voice, leaving you shocked. "If you're so adamant on coming, I think you should think about the consequences" Jacob? Consequences? Don't go, for the sake of this nice change in him!
Tumblr media
Shay would be angry. So angry and so stern. "You know the consequences if anything were to happen to you and I can't be there to say anything except I told you so because we both know what will happen if you keep going on like this. Instead of resting and staying safe, you go out of your way to put yourself in danger. You're acting like a child."
Haytham would just sigh and rub the bridge of his nose. "Don't make me lock you in our room with guards outside because if you don't have the decency to keep yourself safe, I will."

not @ me about to start learning Arabic because of Basim 😭
his voice in Arabic is so hot 🫠 but imagine him teaching you tho .
Basim will teach you some words and the meaning. Because sometimes you get confused when he says something in Arabic .
"عيُونك من جمّالها تشبه القمر بين النجُوم." Basim would say when looking into your eyes. And trust me .
you would be confused cuz , tf did he say in Arabic
“what does it mean ?” You said with the most confused tone . Basim will laugh and tell you the meaning .
” It means” he started “ from your eyes beauty . They’re like the moon between stars “ he said with a faint blush on his face.
”oh! now that’s romantic.. I didn’t know you had it in you” . “ i literally read poems in the house of wisdom when i was young” .
From then on you got obsessed with the language and begged basim to teach you Arabic
He told you that there’s a lot of grammar and it’s a must to follow it or the whole sentence meaning will change
He was right the language have A LOT OF GRAMMAR but hey at least you learned the Arabic alphabet.

Back to the Routes? (A spoiler-free review of Assassin's Creed Mirage)
Thanks to the amazing people at Ubisoft I got a chance to play Mirage early, and after a few days, I am still playing with a huge smile. Because this game is such a joy to play and experience.
The game kicks off with an amazing intro that is up there with Bayek's opening speech In Origins, and then drops you into Basim's shoes and the game begins. And within the few moments of playing you can see how this world is built for parkour and stealth. There are a lot of NPCs milling about making plenty of options to blend but also creating a sense that this world is alive and thriving. There are also a lot of obstacles for the player to use to help them reach the rooftops, and with Basim's light and faster feel chaining parkour routes has never felt so fun.
I am now 10 hours into the story and it is one I'm heavily invested in because it's smaller and more linear, and it's a very good story, one full of mystery and suspense, and even with Basim's fate already set with Valhalla the writers still have managed to create dramatic moments for the character.
The only reservation I had when I started playing was the Back to the Roots marketing and how the team was going to make the game feel back to the roots. And I am happy with what they have achieved because to me it's not the 1:1 Assassin's Creed 1 gameplay that I associate with the series roots, instead the developers have taken the best parts of the recent RPG games and combined them with the best parts of the older titles, to create a perfect blend of old and new. With a sense of nostalgia in the gameplay I would love to see more games in this style.
I do feel there are a lot of positives about this title, from how the world encourages stealth and parkour and the amazing detailed world of Baghdad. But I do feel at some moments this game is let down by its over-challenging combat. For example, in my gameplay, I came to an area that was heavily fortified and my only tool was a throwing knife. At first, planning the route to stealth was exciting and fun, but when I tried to ledge assassinate a guard no matter how many whistles he never walked to the ledge. So I had to chance a combat encounter, which resulted in me being swarmed by 2 agile guards that are easy to pary which triggers an instant kill option like older titles. But there was also an armored guard who could only be damaged from behind. So trying to doge 3 attackers on low stamina with outfits that don't have damage reduction systems became difficult as 4 hits and game over. With more tools at your disposal, the challenging combat becomes a way to force players into navigating more stealthy and pre-planning tools and routes. I feel this approach is clever and can be great, but In early areas where your tools are limited to what you have unlocked combat becomes more of a chore than a fun mechanic to get you to play more stealthy.
Overall even with the challenging combat, there is more to this game that overshadows the combat. Mirage is a world begging to be explored, bright vibrant, and alive. The urban areas are filled with parkour routes or places to blend in making you feel more like a stealthy assassin. This is a game I would recommend to both newer and older fans, and I do hope Ubisoft attempts to make these types of games again.

I’m convinced there was meant to be a meaningful storyline between Hytham and Eivor...
(Spoilers ahead)
One that either got cut because of time or whatever. Or that it was meant to be inferred but they just didn’t do a very good job at it because there’s is some connotations to be made from their interactions and relationship which...aren’t acknowledged but the foundation IS THERE.
To start, it’s clear Eivor and Hytham are at odds with each other when they first meet in Norway as your first interaction - as in your first PROPER interaction - is him stating you should not have the Hidden Blade and Hytham getting pissy about Basim’s gifting it to her.
Which, honestly given that Eivor is unaware of significance of the blade (and there is a whole ass meaning to it) his persistence with begging Basim to not go through with it is understandable. And it’s like Eivor adds salt to the wound when she wears it the wrong way round (according to this Era’s brotherhood) and states that the missing finger Basim and Hytham gave up willingly was a mistake, furthering Eivor’s ignorance. Which rightly annoys Hytham and is why despite Basim telling him to stop, he keeps arguing with Eivor.
Then, and this really wasn’t spoken about enough, is the whole Kjotve situation which was completely dropped and the characters don’t mention it. Or, they do but they don’t REACT to the fact that Hytham promised Eivor the opportunity to kills Kjotve THEN BLATANTLY goes against his promise and attacks Kjotve anyway. Putting Eivor’s honour at risk and promptly getting extremely injured.
(The scene was so badass btw right up until he got thrown but I digress)
Eivor should have been angry, I mean I WAS ANGRY and idk if anyone is aware but I adore Hytham with every fibre of my being but I completely understood that Eivor would be pissed about this yet it is sadly never brought up. Making us miss out on more interactions between the two.
However, apart from it being the set up to Hytham being apart of the Bureau system I think it was also there to set up the reconnection of these two characaters. Whatever Hytham’s motivations for going against his promise was isn’t important. But what is important is how it could have led up to the Leap of Faith scene.
Hytham teaching Eivor the leap of faith is a direct comparison to Basim giving her the hidden blade. These two things are staples of Assassins’s Creed, they are the two things that are iconic to the brotherhood. Basim gave her the hidden blade as an act of good faith and Hytham does the exact same thing here when he does the leap. And given how poorly he reacted to Eivor getting the blade I honestly think this was supposed to be Hytham’s way of not only apologising but also building the strong bond between him and Eivor. His shift in attitude was meant to represent not only his growth but the growth of his bond with Eivor; that this once protective assassin is willing to relay another one of his traditions onto her. In fact, Hytham being so protective of his traditions makes him teaching Eivor all the more meaningful!
It would have made the scene in the ‘after life’ more impactful because it’s HYTHAM who runs to Eivor and helps her up. And the words Eivor say to Hytham after the Order of Ancients is complete is really damn sweet and could have made her words all the more emotional if Ubisoft had gone through with adding more content between this ‘enemies’ to friends dynamic that I’m convinced they were attempting to set up.
[You bet your arse I’m writing up this missing story in my fic btw I will have it Ubi you can’t stop me]

Thoughts After Finishing AC: Valhalla
Under The Cut Out of Respect
Knowing now that Eivor is Odin really explains all those visions Eivor had where she disagreed with Odin after killing folk. It also makes me feel a lot better about my Eivor consistently disagreeing with him.
Holy fuck my feelings. All my friends *sobbing* All of Eivors little Saxon baby Kings.
The moment where Eivor rebukes “Odin” in Valhalla, stating that she needs “everything else” is just... MY CHEST HURTS.
Fuck Basim so hard but also like... God damnit Layla. But also like... if Odin was reborn once then in theory Odin and Tyr should have continued to be reborn? So there should still be an Odin out there somewhere? Also like... Eivor and Sigurd don’t remember who they were until it is pointed out to them so... how did Basim discover he is Loki?
I know that people hate the whole “alien” thing behind AC but tbh, I find it kind of fascinating. I’m more annoyed by the premise of the Animus, especially since clocking back in at the end as Basim instead of as Layla really felt like... a violation? I was pretty uncomfy with that. I plan to resolve it in fanfiction (by literally ignoring the existence of the Animus :D )
So Eivor is Odin. Sigurd is Tyr. Basim is Loki. Aletheia is Angrboda. Is Svala actually Frejya? Or is that just how she envisions herself in Valhalla? (Okay I wiki’d this and apparently yes, Svala is confirmed to be Freyja. Interesting that only her physical appearance changes in Valhalla.) So if Svala is Freyja, and the games seem to be ignoring the existence of Frigga/Frigg, I wonder if Randvi is an Isu at all. The wiki says that all 8 of the Norse Isu Gods uploaded themselves to be redistributed, so it is possible. (Nvm, the Wiki acknowledges Frigg as one of the Aesirian Gods, which makes me wonder why Freyja is then Queen of the Aesir. Since in most Norse myths that acknowledge Frigg - there is some dispute that Frigg and Freyja may be the same Goddess - she is usually listed as Odin’s Queen. Anyway, I suppose this means Randvi could be Frigg?) If I am remembering correctly, the Norse Gods we are introduced to or who are referenced in the game so far consist of: Odin/Havi, Freyja, Tyr, Thor, Baldr (deceased), Loki, Angrboda (jotun, but confirmed Isu), Njord, Skadi, Heimdall, and Idunn/Idunna. The game also acknowledges other non-deity Isu immortals like Fenrir, Jormungandr, and presumably, Hel/Hela, as the children of Loki. (No mention of Sleipnir and The Builder didn’t have a horse this go round so...Ubisoft didn’t want to figure out how to animate an 8 legged horse, let’s be honest). I suppose Randvi could be Frigg/Frigga, Idunn/Idunna, or potentially unnamed as  Jörd/Fjörgyn/Hlódyn, lover of Odin and mother of Thor. It is unlikely she would be Skadi, since Skadi was Njord’s wife and it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to then connect her to Odin.
Of course, Randvi might just be a normal Norsewoman as well, but that idea is much much less fun than the idea of them finding each other over and over again across time.
Also like given that we now know that it was Isu manipulating some of the earliest members of what would become the Assassins, and that they were doing it for their own means... Is the Assassin Order the bad guys now? Like, are they still supposed to be the heroes? I am extremely confused (I have only played Odyssey and Valhalla, and no, I won’t be going back and playing the older games, you can’t make me). Is this somehow going to get twisted around that Loki is a hero figure? Cause tbh, his motivations - while somewhat understandable - still appear to be very selfish in nature. Is the legend of Ragnarok still true? Is the world going to end if he frees Fenrir? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS
Where is Eivor’s story going to go from here in DLC? Because tbh, there’s not a lot of *positive* material to be hand in that Aelfred storyline. I mean... Aelfred the Great won - he drove the Danes/Norsemen from England and unified England. So unless they are going to rewrite that history in a massive way, which doesn’t seem to super suit the series from my understanding, all that lies in that direction is a whole lot more of the devastation we saw in Hamtunscire. And I’m just going to say this right: I waited THE ENTIRE FUCKING GAME to get my hands on that Randvi romance. So... so help me god if all the DLC content is meant to be within current plot confines. I swear to fucking God I will SCREAM bloody murder. I need post-plot content that INCLUDES more romance development for Randvi and Eivor. I love myself some slow burn angst, but fuck off for real.
Speaking of Randvi and Eivor... they seem to fuck in the Map Room like... a LOT... and Sigurd and Randvi’s old bedroom is like... right there. There isn’t even a damn door. (There also isn’t a door to the rest of the longhouse so like... at LEAST one villager is gonna get an eyeful.) So my question then becomes... how do the logistics of the game work out. The game itself does not acknowledge this but I am left with many questions. Just because Sigurd is cool with me smashing his ex-wife doesn’t mean he’s cool with being IN THE NEXT ROOM while I do it.
For me, the most practical solution is to move all of Eivor’s stuff into the Jarl’s bedroom and move the other stuff into Eivor’s old room and let Sigurd stay there. I say move their stuff because idk, if I was gonna get with my brother’s ex-wife I would be really opposed to doing it in THEIR OLD BED. Just move Eivor’s bed in. And Sigurd can take the old bed into Eivor’s alcove, unless he moves out of the longhouse altogether (which seems unlikely because it would appear he is still Jarl? That begs another question: Is Jarlskona supposed to be a female version of Jarl or is it like “The Jarl is gone so this person is taking over in their stead” and if it is the latter then... hasn’t Eivor basically been Jarlskona the whole fucking time? Google isn’t helping me here, jarlskona appears to be a word invented for the game. Best I can find, a woman Jarl would... still just be a Jarl.)
