today i made mistakes. or rather, one big mistake.
so like the big thing i didn’t intend on doing today was only eating a piece of cake and a lil orange the entire day until suddenly it was 6pm, i was sitting in the car at a gas station and suddenly the sick feeling in my stomach brought its friend dizziness and i realized Mistakes Were Made and there weren’t any granola bars
made it home okay, lay down and ate a granola bar, drank some water, let it sit until i felt okay enough to eat some dinner (rice, tofu, pork, veggies, and an egg), took a hunk of pomello upstairs and lay down again and ate that slowly while watching youtube, felt better but really tired because i think i was awake only through moderate anxiety and some adrenaline from “oh no” thoughts so i napped for exactly one hour
brushed my teeth, did some laundry stuff, grabbed a bowl of grapes
still not feeling 100% but i should be okay tomorrow
gonna put some granola bars in the car in case that happens again- i have four granola bars in my backpack but didn’t think about the car until it was Too Late and Already Happening
some other things did happen today, like:
while cleaning my drawers, i discovered i have three inches’ worth of sticker sheets, mostly unused. i’m talking quality stickers. like really heckin’ pretty, dragonflies and butterflies and sunflowers and three sticker books, two full-sized with photo-realistic nature things and one small with pastel aesthetic af shit, apples and snails and rainclouds and hot air balloons, looking through them made me so happy. i will give some to people in christmas cards this year. also!
i found a whole bunch of little styrofoam balls which gave me an idea for a christmas card for my one friend who loves snowmen a lot. so much. so so much. she talks about them year-round. so i’ll hot glue three lil balls together and assemble a snowman decorating assortment of items, little buttons with double sided sticky tape on the back, a little fabric scarf, little felt mittens, tiny buttons for eyes, a little piece of orange pipecleaner for a nose, little buttons for a mouth, little toothpick splinters for a mouth if she wants, just a whole collection of options for decorating the heck out of this teeny snowman. i’ll hotglue the snowman itself to a thick cardstock card thing, glue on some savaged cotton balls and put a ziplock baggie with all the decorating stuff inside. i’m thinking maybe the back of the card will be a winter wonderland at night scene, and i’ll figure out a way to have it open the other way so she can have her snowman in like, a snowy park or smth
the other idea i have rn is to make little paper ornaments and attach them to the card with thread. each one opens up with a message inside, and maybe one has a chocolate? depends how big the card is but i kinda wanna put a chocolate inside one. just cuz.
AND MY ONE FRIEND WHO IS OBSESSED WITH TODOROKI I WILL FIND A WAY TO MAKE A POPUP CARD WITH LITTLE POP UP HEARTS IN A HALO AROUND HIS FACE SO WHEN SHE OPENS IT BAM, THE PERSON SHE LOVES MOST IS STARING BACK AT HER but first i need to find someone with a colour printer i don’t have colours ahahahha
i kinda just want to have fun with christmas cards this year. like what kind of fun can i have making them, and what kind of fun can the people i give them to have receiving them?
the other thing i like to do is wrap presents so they look like animals. attach pieces of paper to make ears, arms, legs, tails, draw on a face, it just makes things very fun and wholesome. i’ve been doing favourite animals for a few years now and that’s worked out very well. also they look super cute under a christmas tree; a pile of little presents animals, i’m sure you could find a way to make funkopop-esque character heads out of them if you had some coloured construction paper, glue, and time. i might try that. if i do i’ll probably post about it here.
when it comes to christmas i’m pretty short on money, so i can’t give expensive presents, but i can show thought and effort in the ways i give presents, so i like to do that. also i get/make presents that hyperfocus onto a very specific thing a friend likes. i’m not very good at getting presents for people who lack specific things they absolutely adore.
a sidenote i found three rainbowloom kits in a drawer. two of them i never opened. i’ll see about donating them to a kid’s christmas present project since they’re in mint condition (is that a thing that applies to rainbowloom sets?)
i have homeworkkkk ahahahha i should do that like, now
‘night y’all. take care of yourselves and remember to prep for your pitfalls. may the most soothing night sounds and soothing dreams find you :)
