I'm not dead, hello!! Life's been chaotic and a certain lil discord server has been keeping me extremly distracted (affectionally) But art has been happening slowly!
Here is some color pallete studies (soaproach edition, cus they are... plaguing my mind) I did some days(?) ago!! Most of these were requested (as you can see by the amount of... soap's (truly a fan favorite))
Part 1 (this one) - Part 2 - Part 3

For the love your fandom asks: 7. your favorite tropes to read/write/draw
11. if you’re a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making? (I think you already answered this one once, but now you can answer it again with something else!)
7 - Hmm, to me this feels like two different questions! XD Because things I like to read are not necessarily things I like to write, and vice versa. I love writing delicious tragedy and heartbreak and going down dark side-branches, but if I saw a fic with the same tags that I use on some other fics, I might not click on it because I like to read happy endings. Similarly I LOVE reading really swoopy romanticism, but I don't write it. (Advancing romantic arcs is a consistent weak spot in my writing. Not that I can't do it at all, but it's always hard and drags behind the rest of the story.)
Trope-wise, I like a lot of what-if tropes: canon divergence, what if?, de-aging, bodyswap, time travel, soulmates/soulmarks, And of course, hurt/comfort. In this my writing and reading habits are perfectly in sync. I loooove hurt/comfort.
11 - I did answer this once before but I'll give a different answer this time -- and this one actually predates my current set of fandoms -- it's  SOJOURN (the house that caleb built) for Critical Role C2. I'm really proud of this one. When I was thinking on the answer for #7, one of the things that occurred to me that I like to write (but which I can't really boil down into a single 'trope,') is fics that really take the reader on a roller coaster journey. With lots of highs and lows and unexpected twists. I love subverting expectations, I like being able to surprise my reader, and I want to make them feel things. I think that Sojourn did very well on that front, partly because it had two major twists -- first at the end of the first chapter when the house changes, and then again at the halfway mark when the true nature of the monsters are revealed.
Basically, it's one of those rare fics that hits the mark of 'I fully succeeded in what I set out to do with this story.' Also it had a lot of really great team banter, fun monsters, angst, humor, and of course, hurt/comfort. And it was surprisingly successful despite being a story with no romance to speak of, which is not a guarantee in any fandom!
