I know the show-runners said Marcus is human, but what if his body has been taken over like with Charlotte’s or God Johnson’s? Then he could well be talking about Uriel, which means he is a brother to Uriel, Amenadiel and Lucifer. And that would mean the Sinnerman is actually Lucifer? 

Add to it that Tom Welling in an interview claims Marcus might be older than Lucifer so that kind of eliminates him being human as Lucifer was around when “Dad started going into the garage and tinkering with a little project he called humanity”. So this actually points towards Marcus being anything but human. 

Human or not, it seems that Marcus is using Chloe to get to Lucifer and hurt him.
