SANCHEZ RAMÍREZ.- Fue identificada como Nidia Luisa Rivera Flores, de 68 años, la monja estadounidense perdió la vida ayer tras sufrir un accidente de tránsito.
La extranjera conducía una camioneta Toyota, modelo Hilux, de color verde, por la calle Principal, del sector Los Peralejos, del municipio Cevicos de esta demarcación.

En San Juan. Amas de casa con el grito al cielo, dicen es exorbitante precio del gas
San Juan de la Maguana (SJM). Amas de casa de esta comunidad, calificaron como exorbitante, muy por encima de sus posibilidades económicas, el precio del galón de gas para cocinar.
Mujeres de esta comunidad, clamaron al presidente Danilo Medina, para que disponga una rebaja sustancial en el precio del gas para cocinar a fin de que lo ponga otra vez al alcance de miles de hogares, cuyos recursos económicos.
Mariana Ogando, Ursula Diaz, Miguelina Valenzuela, Catalina Beltre, Dominga Sanchez, Josefa De los Santos, Alba Nidia De los Santos, Elvira Mateo, Ernestina De Oleo, Santa Ursula Alcántara, Benita Sánchez, entre otras, coincidieron en que el precio del galón de gas para cocinar no es para hogares pobres.
Calificaron de abusivo el precio de 118 pesos por el galón de gas, a lo cual hay que agregar el pago de transporte por los cilindros cuando enviar a llenarlos.
Las citadas mujeres residentes en San Juan de la Maguana, indicaron que la situación es peor para los residentes en comunidades rurales, pues a los 118 pesos por galón tienen que sumar el pago de pasajes para venir a la ciudad a llenar sus tanques.
Dijeron que el precio de 118 pesos por galón de gas para cocinar no es para una economía como la nuestra, la cual esta mujeres calificaron en recesión.
Afirmaron que tanto el gas para cocinar como diversos artículos de consumo diario han sido aumentados en forma abusiva, que pone a cientos de miles de familias pobres en los campos y barriadas en una situación difícil.
