Jing yuan asks, one day "Don't you find if regretful sometimes, yingxing? That I live a longer life than you?" he plays with the ring on his finger and continues, "Do you sometimes wish to have a life as long as mine so we can be together longer?"

The craftsman pauses all his work and raises an eyebrow at this companion, "A dangerous thought, and not one befitting a lieutenant."

The younger simply laughs, "Perhaps not, but, indulge me?"

"No" he intertwines their fingers together, making their rings clink "Rather, Jing yuan, I wish that you lived a life as short as mine, so you may know what it's like to grow old with the person you love."

"To grow old with the person you love..."

"We just got married a week ago, and you're already thinking about turning me immortal?" he expects Jing yuan to laugh and deny it. Instead he sits closer to yingxing and tucks his head on his shoulder.

"I'd be lying if I said the thought never occurred to me. I wouldn't dare try it, of course." he looks at their intertwined hands and laughs softly, "but is it wrong for me to wish an eternity with you?"
