jjks2 rly isn't..... it's not that it isn't good but. the cinematography is great dgwm but it's straining against the baseline shounen manga undercurrent. it doesn't mesh well with the random goofy faces and txt thoughts. and worst of all the pacing of newest ep was just....... horrible lol. like i don't care as much abt the getou ideology descent all things considered but the anime really fucking miffed it by just slideshowing all these scenes back to back. if we can get a 10min extension on the opening segment for utahime (most appreciated still) they should have done the same for the village twins. im almost convinced now we're gonna get right up to culling game this season bc they're rly budgeting tight with how much time they spend on scenes. literally extending the village content to half an ep would have solved so many problems!!!! and i know it was short in the manga too but there it sorta works via panels/gutter usage. in animation it did not translate to any emotional drama at all even though that is THE turning point. ugh!!!! also the stsg kfc breakup was fucking ridiculous why wld u set it in a moving crowd!!!!!! again it worked in the manga but it was sooooo distracting to watch. for how good the cinematography has been it's rly baffling why they didn't go for like a. slowmo greyscale faceless crowd for the duration of the conversation...... literally blaming it on whatever filmic brainrot's been infesting mappa since csm. i hate it
