I know it's because there's no real reason for overlap but sometimes the very specialized knowledge of different medical fields is a little funny. My dentist asked if me taking my adhd meds before my appointment would help with my needle phobia. Ma'am I have terrible news about one of the main side effects of Concerta

#It makes SENSE if it's not your field to assume that adhd meds calm the patient down the way anxiety meds would #And I've known people who tell me that after starting Concerta or similar meds their anxiety decreases because it was tied to hyperactivity #But uh. In case you weren't aware adhd meds are usually stimulants and therefore can increase anxiety symptoms if you're not careful #Definitely. Skipping my dose that day lol #But!! If anyone remembers my freaking out from before!! My dentist prescribed me a single dose anti anxiety med #That will hopefully help keep me from freaking out during my root canal scheduled for this week! Trying to be hopeful! #I'm going to need a few appointments to get everything taken care of BUT hopefully within #The next few months I'll be able to like.
