Hey I have an angst for you!!! Vash's s/o being sweeter and more doting than normal (they're sweet to him generally but now they've just cranked it up to 12) and when he confronts them about it, they say "I dont want you to leave me" Turns out they're very insecure and are trying to "give him better reasons to stay."
I hope this is to your liking! TW: Anxiety, self image issues.

Vash’s eyes carefully scanned over the contents delicately arranged before him. A 12-pack of donuts, a case of locally brewed beer from his favorite shop, and his favorite meal cooked exactly how he liked it. He’d never question this show of affection from you most days, but things have changed.
For weeks now, you’ve grown more affectionate towards the gunman. It began with words of affection, reminding him constantly that you loved him. From there, words turned into actions. Most nights, you were clinging to him in bed. While he was all for the comfort of physical affection, it began to become suffocating.
He hadn’t thought about it at first, but standing before this selection of offerings, his mind began to piece it together. It’s been a month since the two of you visited his favorite bar. He knew everyone there. Despite his infamous reputation and substantial bounty, his knack for thwarting large bar fights had earned him the gratitude of the owner.
There was a particular barmaid who had taken quite a liking to Vash. Despite Vash consistently rejecting her advances, she was as persistent as ever, only stopping her incessant pestering when you were around. Vash had told you of her actions straight away the first time she attempted to make a move. He wanted to be transparent with you. Of course, you had nothing but faith in Vash, but many could mistake his kind manner of speaking for flirting. The first time she openly flirted with Vash in front of you, you were left with a pit in your stomach that never seemed to go away.
You can’t count on your fingers the number of hearts Vash had to break when he informed an admirer that he was happily taken. It’s happened so much, the two of you have jokingly agreed he should wear a shirt with "taken" written in bold letters.
It had been funny at first, but over time it began to build insecurities inside of you. In your opinion, many of those who approached him were better-looking than you. The spiral downward was fast. It festered into a voice that nipped at your brain at all hours of the day.
Vash had noticed a plethora of new behaviors that emerged in a short period of time. You had begun to actively avoid mirrors; you’d become interested in cosmetics despite having no desire originally; and you were dressing up whenever you two would leave together, even for the smallest thing. You were buttering him up with words, agreeing to all forms of intimacy whenever he asked, suggesting to do things you knew he specifically liked every day.
Vash’s eyes moved from the delicacies in front of him to lock eyes with you. He could tell that smile on your face was fake. Truthfully, you were terrified he wouldn't be interested in what you gave him. Strong hands grab both your shoulders firmly, blue eyes staring a hole through you.
"I can’t take this anymore. Something is wrong; you’re hiding something from me." His voice was firm and assertive, but it still held care. "In just one month, you’ve changed as a person. It’s like you’re an entirely new person, and I hate it." There was a light crack in his voice. Perhaps it had been slowly eating at him too. "Please…just tell me what’s wrong."
All it took were those last 5 words to reach your ears for you to turn into a sobbing disaster. In the back of your mind, you had been silently praying that Vash would speak up about it. Too afraid to be open with him and too afraid to reach out for help, you had been suffering in silence for the past month. Tears flooded your eyes, blurring your vision of the blonde standing in front of you.
In an instant, he had pulled you against his large frame, wrapping his arms around you and resting his hands against the small of your back. You felt his chin rest upon your head, only moving once to place a soft kiss. The two of you remained this way as your tears washed away a month of suffering in silence.
"I’m scared." You say it to him in a soft, airy voice. You are still attempting to choke back your tears.
"Scared of what? Has someone threatened you? Did someone do something to you? Please, tell me." His grip on you gets ever-so-gently tighter, giving you a soft squeeze. "No…I’m scared of being alone."
Vash is taken aback by your words. "Alone? You’re not alone. I’m right here! You know I’m always here." There was a soft chuckle in his words, and you could tell he wasn’t entirely understanding what you meant.
"It’s only a matter of time before you find someone better than me." Just saying those words felt like a knife was being stabbed into your chest. "I’m…average. There’s nothing about me that stands out above the competition." You continue to speak after taking a large breath. "One day, you’ll find someone better…and I’ll be alone again." You finally gather the courage to look Vash in the eyes.
You regretted that instantly. You made him cry. You could see the tears forming in his eyes, threatening to drip down his cheeks. You felt like such an asshole. You keep thinking you should’ve just kept it to yourself.
"Vash, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have sa—"
"Don’t ever say that again." You flinch at the sharpness of his voice. "Don't ever think of yourself like that." His tone softens immediately upon your reaction. "You are the best to me. You don’t stand out above the competition because there is no competition. Everything about you is perfect." His hands move to grip your shoulders, locking you in place.
"Vash, I–" You try to stammer out words, but he doesn’t let you get a word in.
"You have the most amazing laugh. It lights up the whole room when you do. Your smile is like a warm hug. The compassion and kindness you have in your heart for every person in this world is unrivaled. You are a gift to everyone you meet." You can feel his hands trembling as he holds your shoulders. "You’re a gift to me…"
Those tears in his eyes finally fell down his face. He can’t hold back his emotions. Hearing you speak so negatively about yourself was like a punch to the gut.
"I will never leave you."
As your own tears return to soak your cheeks, the two of you grasp each other in a tight embrace. You allow yourselves to cry because even if the world were against the both of you, you’d always have each other.

Vash “The Humanoid Typhoon”
Vash was a gentleman, not getting close to you so you wouldn’t be uncomfortable around him, but you wanted to get close to him, and he didn't really make it easy for you. So when both of them got a room together, he immediately said that he would sleep on the floor.
"Vash, you don't have to do that." You could sleep next to me. It's fine." You assured him with a smile, and you saw his face go a bit red.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course!"
You were surprised at how easily Vash agreed to your offer: "How about you go to sleep first, and I'll go take a shower?" you say before quickly walking to the bathroom that was attached to the room, closing the room behind you, and leaning your back against it.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" you thought to yourself as you felt your face getting hotter and hotter.
----
After drying your wet hair with a towel, As I exited the bathroom, I noticed Vash already laying on his side in bed, his pink jacket folded on top of the side table. Looking at him, you could tell he wasn't sleeping.
"Vash," you call out to him softly. You walk towards his side of the bed, sitting on the edge of it, seeing the side of his face, pretending he's asleep before turning to lie on his back to look at you, putting your hand on his cheek and gently creasing it with your thumb. "Vash," you whisper, leaning closer to him. "I like you a lot, Vash," you say softly, looking at your face.
"I like you too," Vash mumbles.
Vash goes to cup your cheeks, one flesh and the other mental, moving you closer until you are just inches away from your lips.
"Can I kiss you?" Vash muttered, and you pushed your lips onto his, feeling his soft lips moving against yours. Vash pulled his hands from under you and moved them to your back, pulling you into a hug. You felt his warm breath against your neck.
You wrapped your arms around his waist, feeling his soft skin, and you felt him lean into your body.
The kiss lasted for minutes, and you pulled away from the embrace, feeling your heart beat fast, your body shiver, and a blush forming on your face. You looked up at Vash, who looked at you with a small smile on his face.
"It's getting late; we should get to bed." Vash said, "Okay," and you get to go to the other side of the bed and lie down facing him while he turns his body to look at you.
You felt yourself slowly drifting off to sleep, then you felt Vash take your hand and intertwine his fingers with yours; his touch made you feel warm inside. "Good night, Vash." You mumbled quietly as you closed your eyes. "Good night, (name)," he says, smiling.
Nicholas d Wolfwood “The Punisher”
Nicholas made you really mad whenever he treated you like a child and not like an adult. Oh, how fast that can become annoying.
"Kids don't get to smoke; it can hurt them." Nicholas mocked you before grabbing the lit cigarette from your lips and placing it in his mouth instead while taking a step back away from you. He blew out the smoke, his black sunglasses at the tip of his nose, and smiled at how angry you appeared."You look really pretty when angry," he said, laughing softly as if the thought had just occurred to him.
Grabbing the stolen cigarette from his lips, you throw it on the ground, smashing it with your shoe, grabbing his collar roughly, and shoving him against the wall, saying, "Feisty, just like my type." Nicholas laughed again before grabbing your hands and trying to remove them from his collar, but you pushed harder on him.
"Take it easy, will you?" Nicholas grumbled as he placed his hand on the back of your head and pushed your head against his opened chest. His chest is warm against your face, and you can smell the cigarettes on his body.Nicholas kissed your forehead softly, making you pull away slightly, feeling embarrassed.
You had no idea what you were doing until Nicholas grabbed your waist and pulled you closer to him, causing your cheeks to heat up as he kissed the taste of ash in your mouth.
You looked away, embarrassed, pulling away from him and wiping away the taste in your mouth. You were about to say something while he smirked.
"Come to talk to you when you have something significant to say," you grumbled as you walked away.

Vash "the humanoid Typhoon"
Sitting on the cold ground, looking at a phone that was at 1%, and then looking up at the sky, with the sun slowly setting, the air getting colder and colder with it, and the breeze blowing against your face, a chill runs down your spine.
Crossing your arms to keep your hands warm and looking around and seeing everyone getting ready to go home to their families, you feel lonely and lonely, wanting to hear your mother complain about how you don't do chores but stay in the room all the time.
You feel your eyes swell up, and warm tears drip down your cheeks. You wanted to go home badly, but now she is stranded in some town you've never heard of.
Looking around again, I saw that people were leaving, and soon there would be none left in the town. The people would leave, and you would have no one. You sigh, wiping away the water from your eyes as the wind blows harder, causing you to shiver.
looking at your phone for the last time, but it had already died and there was nothing to charge it with.
Sitting in the cold, you hear someone sit beside you. Turning your head to the side, you see a blonde in orange shades with a plaid jacket smiling back at you.
His clothes look way different than yours.
"Hey, are you alright!?" He blurted it out while attempting to console you.
"No, my phone died, and I don't know where I am!" You mumbled sadly. He looked confused at your answer but continued his attempts to make you feel better.
"Well, I'll try my best to help." "Could I see your phone?" The blonde with glasses smiled while holding his hand so you could give him your phone. You handed him the device hesitantly, and as he took it, he looked at it puzzledly, as if he'd never seen it before.
"I'm really sorry i couldn't help I'm sure what to do." he gulped
"At the very least, you tried," you say.
"Where are you from?" "Your clothes are different than most people's," he pounded
"I could say the same about you, but I didn't catch your name," you inquired.
"Vash the Stampede!" Vash answers.
"(Name), but Vash the Stampede has a pretty weird name to have," you bleated.
"Really, is it?" Vash gasped while scratching the back of his head, "I'm from (place name)."
"Never heard of it."
"Really?" you exclaim.
"(Name), what is your phone even for?" Vash asks, "I wish I could listen to music or look at photos; even more, I wish I could listen to music or see my family." you sniffled. "Don't cry; I'll help you get home," Vash said with a smile.
"I promise"
Nicholas D. Wolfwood "The Punisher"
You were sitting on metal stairs, and you felt so hopeless not knowing where you were that you just wanted to go back home to see your family and friends and listen to music.
Your tears wouldn't stop falling, and you tried to wipe them away, but they just kept falling. At the same time, your hands felt numb and cold. The air could cause your cheeks to freeze.
You didn’t want to die, and dying in a place like this was the last thing you wanted.
While you zoned out, someone sat beside you.
You slowly turned your head when you noticed a man dressed entirely in black and wearing black sunglasses at night. He had a cigarette in his mouth and a huge cross by his side.
"Why are they so upset?"The man asked you
"Um, what?" you hesitated
"Why are you crying?" he huffed.
"Well, as strange as it may sound, I want to go home and see my family and listen to music again, but my phone died, and everything feels surreal to me." you sobbed
The man just listened to you quietly while puffing smoke from the cigarette before taking his finger and wiping the tears away and silently comforting you.
You're a bit happy that he didn't call you insane and just leave.
"Thank you," you muttered.
