a friend recommended i watch an anime called Skate-Leading Stars and in the first episode they've established a childhood rivalry with an absolute dick of an antagonist, gave us an orphaned protagonist who is the embodiment of the phrase "monkey see, monkey do,", snuck in some casual stalking and kidnapping amongst other illegal activities, created an entirely new sub-section of figure skating that is a combination of pairs, singles, and synchro, AND made the protag pull off a quad flip after YEARS of not skating without dying instantly. dear lord.

#as a figure skater i simply do not know how to feel #the animation in this show is a little better than yuri on ice but not by a lot #the characters are still taking off forwards for every single jump and that is a Problem #also the skates look like clown shoes im sorry #watching this anime is like reading a crack fic like i CANNOT take it seriously #skatong #watching this so far is honestly just proving that yuri on ice will always be THAT figure skating anime. everything about it was spot on #except for the scores. how the hell JJ got 80 points in his short program at the GPF after falling on EVERYTHING is beyond me #he should have gotten 40 MAX because his jumps wouldn't have counted and his PCS would have been in the shitter #also how the hell yuri got a 350 total score with his highest quad being a toe is WILD #a 350 total has NEVER been pulled off and yet some guy did it without a quad loop? or flip? or LUTZ? #i need to see yuri plisetsky's technical sheet RIGHT NOW his PCS must be 10's all the way down THEY GOTTA BE #i digress #sorry for the essay i have a lot of thoughts
