#also this makes a Gojo revival even less likely since him giving Suguru’s body a proper send off was one of the things he needed to do

So I’m not happy about the latest chapter. I didn’t care about Kenjaku as a character so it’s not like I’m going to miss him but… this leaves Sukuna as the final villain, and I hate that. For me, Sukuna was most interesting (and most fun) when he was a wild card who wasn’t on anyone’s side but his own, when he made things objectively worse for both protagonists and antagonists every time he appeared. For me he just doesn’t work as the primary villain. For one thing, we still don’t even know what his goals are. What happens if he wins in the end? What does he even want? It’s hard to care about the stakes when we don’t know what those stakes are. Maybe he wants to rule the world. Maybe he wants to kill every sorcerer on the planet. Maybe he wants to open a restaurant with Uraume. Who the fuck knows? But it only matters if he’s the primary villain.
Also, him being the final villain pretty much guarantees he’ll die in the end. If he’s just the wild card, I can see an ending where he remains sealed in Yuji but still very much alive.
Kenjaku said his will would be inherited but I’m not putting any hopes in that changing things. At this point introducing a new villain to be the final boss won’t work. Also! I really wish we had gotten some kind of confrontation between Kenjaku and Yuji about Kenny being his freaking mom. The fact that it was never addressed between them is ridiculous.
