now. hold on. shanahan/yzerman first person mpreg? (im @sergeifyodorov it's just that that account's a sideblog!) i have Questions. namely:

- which one of them was pregnant (if it wasn't stevie im rioting)

- whose pov was it from?

idk what to even say about this fic like I don't want to go on record and say that a fic published a year before Luke Hughes was even born is good or bad...the early aughts were a different time in fandom...but yes it was Stevie 😅 from his POV too. Parts of it made me absolutely deranged and some of it is very, very funny (I think on purpose, but I'm not sure.)

fic: No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground on the WayBack Machine. Author rated it R for "sexual situations, language, and overall mature theme". In the year of Gary Bettman's 2023 I will also add a note that there is fat-shaming, feminization, casual misogyny, and that it's generally a product of its time. Which is neither a good thing nor bad thing, we only know as much as we know!

@lovethygoalie did a really interesting deepdive on older hockey fics on the WayBack Machine a couple years back which is how I found it - if you're interested in older fic, that's definitely a post to check out. But also link-hopping through fansites on the WayBack Machine is fun if you're ever bored and you can find some truly wacked out/innovative shit from our hrpf foremothers if you're willing to open links head first eyes closed can't lose.

(My personal white whale: the dead link on this page for a fic titled French Toast, rated R, with a summary of "Martin St. Louis can eat whatever he wants after the 2004 All-Star game."
