Childhood Friend AU with Gojo and Rip!MC! But itâs just rip mc doing her damnest to avoid an annoying attention seeking gojo brat who wants to pull pranks with her.
im such a sucker for childhood friends to lovers bc i know gojo was a little shit and i would not want to wish that ankle biter upon anyone BUT,,,,,..
iâd imagine they meet in a park or something. gojo runs away from the compound to escape the suffocating atmosphere and monotony and the first time they meet, or at least the first time gojo sees rip!mc is when sheâs staring, arms wrapped around her knees, fascinated, at some low level curse he could easily extinguish with a flick.
gojo ascertains she can see curses just like him and probably observes her for a couple of days (bc sheâs always there, and at the end of the day watches the way she lights up when she sees her father who scoops her up into his arms with a wide smile) one day while sheâs in the sandbox, he approaches her and probably throws out a comment about how sheâs ânot doing it rightâ and when she ignores him, he kicks down her sandcastle LMAO and instead of making a ruckus, she just makes another one. and gojo is not used to being ignored!!! obviously the one being rude here is her not him. heâs just trying to talk to her after all!! heâs satoru gojo, who wouldnât want to talk to him? heâs doing her a favor smh!! while gojoâs stewing in offended silence, rip!mc looks up at him and takes pity on him and asks him if he wants to help.
he says no.
....before plopping down next to her. he waits for her to hand him a shovel or something but when she doesnât even notice he makes a face and does it himself. anyway they go from there and gojo tells her about curses and she tells him about the small low level curse sheâs keeping as a pet in the shoebox underneath her bed to which is gojo is like. what. and with a completely straight face she says that she wants to study it. gojo decides right there and then that heâs going to marry her.
they end up becoming really good friends. best friends. and itâs gojo roping her into playing pranks with him at the gojo compound and other mischief. all she really wants to do is read too!!! but gojo yanks on her pigtails to make her pay attention to him. one day even rip!mcâs patience wears thin so when he does it again, she face plants him into the ground and storms away, and thatâs their first âfightâ
they end up ignoring each other, refusing to speak to one another until rip!mcâs mother gets involved. it ends up being the first time in his life gojo apologizes to someone and thatâs when he sees rip!mc teary eyed at his apology before she throws her arms around him and blubbers out her own apology. sheâs sorry she hurt him!! even though he was being really annoying and kept on grabbing her hair when she told him to stop it!! multiple times!!! and she hopes his face doesnât still hurt or anything!! (he tells her that, yes, his forehead still hurts and that there might even be a little scar and heâs lying but it doesnât really matter when he sees how she hovers around him for the next week, never taking her eyes off him just in case heâs uncomfortable and he so smug about it) this whole interaction happens while rip!mcâs mother is watching and trying to hide an amused smile.
but then rip!mcâs mother dies and she doesnât really want to play much anymore. gojo sees her less and less much to his dismay. sheâs more withdrawn, sadder, and gojo doesnât really know what to do. when her father dies, the college offers to take her under their wing in exchange for becoming a jujutsu sorcerer and gojo isnât very happy about that when she tells him. they have another argument about what and what she shouldnât do. but what does he know!! sheâs alone in the world now and doesnât have anybody and what does she have to live for? she might as well do something with her life even if it means throwing it away. gojo takes offense to that because she has him, sheâs always had him, and sheâs an idiot if she thinks otherwise!! all she needs to do is stop worrying and marry him.
