I’m a long term fortnite fan, and I gotta say that this chapter has really been endless buildup for threats that never came.
Season 1 this chapter, we’ve got foreshadowing some threat from the stars and AMIE becoming sentient, both possible threats, and then at the end a rift started forming. Then come next season, BOTH are forgotten and the most the rift does is make temporary floating islands and bring cyberpunk japan in.
Season 2 is all about some mysterious force trying to put various guilds against eachother. Is it amie? Midas? Some other character, old or new? Who knows, because they abandoned that in favor of a jungle biome emerging from the center of the map.
Then season 3 has talks about some other cosmic threat bad enough they brought back Slone and have Optimus Prime come to warn us. And once again, the threat never comes. At worst we have a gentrifying vampire.
At least in the previous chapters, when they foreshadowed a threat, you know it would come soon. Might not be how you expected it would, but it would come. Now, it feels like they are just building up plot points just to throw into plot point purgatory.
