when you need neon bright cyan but all you have is dull cobalt

#I keep mixing bright green/yellow into it to make it better #but it makes it duller #white makes it dull too #just throw the whole painting in the trash #the face looks good but the rest?? let's not talk about it #I could PROBABLY wait till it dries and go over some areas with colored pencil #idk if that works on gouache #and my pencils aren't much brighter than my paint.... #AND FEATHERS ARE SO FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE #it's one of those things where it just... confuses my eyes and brain too much to even be able to replicate it #I can barely comprehend it #I look at my ref and see where everything is #but I get so lost in the details that I can't make out where one thing starts and stops #it all just starts blending together #so it's really hard to draw #I don't know if this is normal #or it's some sort of autistic thing to get lost in the details or have trouble comprehending how something simple works
