todays instructor (he/they) referred to me with they today and im taking a moment this is a lot to process

#first INSTRUCTOR in business school ive encountered that uses they/them #then revealed this is for an education phd and im like oh that explains haha #but also its like wow i never anticipated that this would be the first context where They (respectful) was used for me outside of like. #the usual queer online zones or the awkward Not Sure What to Make of your First Name They #again thought about putting it in my zoom handle but half the people on zoom know my dad #and once or twice there were some queerphobic comments from students so im still like errhgh #anyway im not sure how i feel about it being applied to me yet there is still some baggage to unpack #like she is totally fine and acceptable it just #hmm it will be interesting if i get they the whole week to try on like ah this is why it matters! hoho! #prof is also going out of the way not to misgender students sitting in class too which might be odd for them as non-native english speakers #but incredibly interesting for me
