lil nothing happens snippet bc the first three parts are gonna be posted this month <3 and bc i have so much fun writing this au <3

“Reggie, I swear to god, if those two weirdos aren’t here in the next five minutes I’m gonna—” Sirius begins, sounding a bit less playful and a lot more irritated.  “There you are, Reg,” a sweet voice interrupts, and James raises his head just in time to catch Pandora walking towards them, Evan following close behind, headphones already in place. “We thought you had already left.” Regulus does turn around this time, wanting to face his friends, which nearly drags a protest out of James, especially because his hands leave his hair, and he stops the soft caresses that had almost managed to lure him to sleep. But since Regulus doesn’t move away from him, his arms still securely wrapped around his waist, he keeps all his whines at bay. “I said I’d wait,” Regulus retorts, like that’s all the argument he needs. And honestly, it kinda is, considering how seriously he takes even the silliest of promises. “Still.” Pandora shrugs, and Evan just blinks slowly at him, gaze empty. If James didn’t know any better, he’d swear he isn’t even listening. “We know your brother can get a little impatient, and we got delayed because Slughorn wanted to talk to Evan.” Sirius clicks his tongue, obviously annoyed, and James isn’t sure if it’s due to Pandora’s comment or to the twins’ presence in general.  The noise seems to catch Pandora’s attention, who tilts her head to finally acknowledge Sirius, giving him a wide smile that isn’t reciprocated. The gesture looks kind, and genuine, and would probably convince anyone that isn’t aware of how deeply Sirius and Pandora dislike each other.  “Sirius,” she says with a tiny nod, her voice pleasing but cold. Almost disdainful.  His best friend only responds by baring his teeth, and Pandora’s grin seems to become even wider.
