#and that's ONLY because i'm pretty sure he's NOT the same king as in OoT

Okay, now I'm curious due to the latest ask: which Ganon do you think would win a battle royale of Ganons? Both in a context where it's only Ganons running around, and another where there are also Links and Zeldas sharing the same connected reality? I feel like that would make a difference somehow.

I am getting so much mileage out of this meme....
ANYWAYS- So, if we're talking about all the Ganons going all out in a battle royale with no interference I would immediately rule out OoA/OoS Ganon. He is mindless and incapable of acting coherently. His magical prowess and strength are about on par for what you would expect from a typical beast Ganon. He can reverse floor tiles which, eh that's nothing for the other Ganons. They'd probably take him out first. Next one I would rule out is FSA Ganon. The only thing he has going for him is the Trident of Power which granted him enough dark power to become the King of Darkness, but he doesn't have much else going for him. He didn't even require the Master Sword to be defeated, able to be imprisoned by the Four Sword that had initially been Vaati's prison. He is also huge, very huge, so that makes him a big ol' target.
After that I would say Zelda I’s Ganon would get put out. He has the Triforce of Power sure, but he gets defeated by a magic sword that doesn’t require powers that seal the darkness. That tells me that while he may be strong his dark magic is not as potent as other Ganons. He would get overwhelmed.
I think the next one out would be OoT Ganondorf. He has cunning, but once the Triforce of Power lands in his hands there is some measure of mental corruption he suffers that I think makes him act brazenly. If Zelda’s words are to be taken at face value, he had some problems controlling the Triforce of Power, but by virtue of having said power he can still trump the Ganons before him.
And now we come to the matter of ALBW. For the sake of this battle royale I’ll consider Yuganon. He also has the Triforce of Power, but has the benefit of combining the power of Ganon with Yuga. He seems more in control of the power in his hands, and has the entire range of Ganon’s powers to use as well. He also has some measure of cunning to use. I would say what weakens him here is his willpower, which I think cannot match the top contenders.
Wind Waker Ganondorf is next for me. I was considering whether Yuganon was stronger than him considering the fact that he has the benefit of having not only the Triforce of Power but also the power of two. However, I think what gives Ganondorf the edge here is experience. He also is capable of causing so much wide spread destruction that it forced the hand of the gods, and can destroy entire isles if he so wishes. I suppose I put him here because WW Ganondorf seems to exercise restraint and rely more on cunning which is all well and good, but when in an all out brawl with other versions of you who are both cunning and also unhinged you need to let yourself go completely.
Alright so here is where it gets difficult because we have TP, TotK, and ALttP left. So this is how I see it.
TP Ganondorf will be the third in running. I think what gives him the advantage over the previous Ganondorfs is he has light magic in his body which, and maybe this is a stretch to assume, allows him to have more resistance to dark magic? He also has the favor of the gods since he was granted the Triforce. I think his unwillingness to die and the fact that his body was able to withstand an execution, living in the twilight realm, and 4 rounds of battle against Link before dying ON HIS FEET makes him incredibly resilient so he’ll be a hard one to take down.
Now here is where I’m at a bit of a crossroads, because for me the question is what is more potent, the power of the complete Triforce, which ALttP Ganon possesses, or the Secret Stone, which TotK Ganondorf pushes to its limits and pretty much milks it for all the power it can give him. So let’s see what their accomplishments are.
TotK Ganondorf was able to destroy the Master Sword which is no small feat; no other Ganon really accomplished that. However, what we garnered from TotK is that the Master Sword’s strength is dependent on how long it is bathed in light. It could be a possibility that following the defeat of Calamity Ganon that the Master Sword was not at its full strength when faced with an awakened Ganondorf so soon. TotK Ganondorf is also, I would say, probably the most adept at combat with his range of weapons combined with his magic and his ability to mimic Link’s flurry rushes. I think what TotK Ganondorf lacks is cunning; he is about that show of power and is more direct in that sense.
ALttP Ganon has the entirety of the Triforce’s power in his hands. He created an entire dark realm in the realm that was meant to imprison him which does show the breadth of his power. Despite being sealed, his cunning allowed him to create an alter ego in Hyrule that he successfully used to manipulate the people instead of going on a obvious rampage. He is probably the one I would say uses both his power and his manipulation to their full extent; if Zelda had not had a telepathic connection with Link then Hyrule would have surely met its doom.
So, this is what I think, in my opinion: I don’t think the Secret Stone is as powerful as the Triforce when both are used to their full extent. Additionally, I just think ALttP Ganon would be able to outsmart TotK Ganondorf when it comes to his own weaknesses. So, I give this to AlttP Ganon yay for him 👏
Now, if we throw Links and Zeldas into the mix? I think they would at first convene together out of concern that the Ganons might team up before coming to the stark realization that the last thing these guys want to do is collaborate. So, essentially they would wait until they all wear each other out over their stupid battle royale and then come in and clean up whoever is left. Easy peasy for them.

[*screams in confused*
I have so much shit to say under the cut and none of it is goign to make sense but I gotta get the thots down.]
I NEED ANSWERS. AND MAYBE I'LL GET THEM WITH MORE TEARS BUT FUCKING. AAAAAAAAAAAH.
So, I found the scene with Ganondorf swearing fealty to Rauru and I'm just. I want to know all the things. Because of how far in the future from the other games botw takes place, it's so HARD to pin down exactly how things connect to the older games, and this scene is a testament to that. This scene obviously mirrors the one in OoT, but it can't be the same one, right? BUT at the same time, Ganondorf is obviously VERY uncomfortable with swearing his fealty, and LOW KEY suggests that the relationship between the Gerudo and Hylians at this time is going to be a new one. So does THAT mean this was after the Civil War? Is the sealing war (I forgot the name already oof) the same thing? Was that event THAT far back, all the way to the creation of Hyrule? I mean it would MAKE SENSE but then...how do you square that with how the Gerudo are in OoT, very obviously their own group with their own religion and having like nothing to do with Hyrule as a whole. I guess it could just be that, what what this Ganondorf (or the same one? It's hihgly suggested he's the same person throughout) is going to do, that recreates the tensions between the Gerudo in Hyrule (peep the loyal soldiers in the scene meaning the Gerudo swear allegiance to Ganondorf as their king at this time) that we see through OoT. But then, in this era, it's obvious the Gerudo despise Ganondorf if Urbosa's comments in BotW are anything to go on so ????????
And maybe it IS the same scene from OoT because, even though we already had a few games in the timeline BEFORE (SS and Minish Cap, the latter of which Hyrule is established) OoT, I'm pretty sure I've read the creators have basically said that timeline is null and void. So...does that mean OoT comes "directly" after SS? As in, Rauru and the Zonai come to settle and establish Hyrule, the king in OoT was Rauru, AND this scene they're showing IS the scene from OoT? So are the Link and Zelda from THAT era outside peeking in the window and plotting? Or, with this time traveling ability, is it also somehow suggesting that Zelda is the same throughout, too (I don't THINK this is the case but IDK).
I don't think that's it because it's also made obvious that Ganondorf isn't after the Triforce in this (unless these stones somehow become the Triforce or something). In fact, there still hasn't been a mention of it and Hylia is the only Goddess really touched on still. So going back to the idea of this being, timewise, so far removed from OoT era anyway, is the Zonai!Hyrule different than the OG!Hyrule? I mean...there was a flood and Hyrule was refounded, yeah? So is THAT the Hyrule we're in now, and the creators used that big time skip just to redo the entire series so that nothing in the past is REALLY connected to what happens in BotW and TotK? I mean, we obviously still have mentions of older figures like Ruto on the stones and Urbosa mentioning Nabooru along with plenty of other obvious connections but...is that just because they know the history of a Hyrule from a bygone era? One that drowned in a great flood? The sages are different elements, too. So like. Where in time are these memories or whatever taking place?
If you've made it this far, congrats. You survived my ramble, hopefully without scrambling your brain. Have a cookie.]
