Random thought, can I call you Cloud or do you have a name you want to be referred to as on your blog? I haven't been here long (though I plan on sticking around) and I don't think I saw anything about a nickname for you in previous posts. If not, that's fine! And I'm very sorry if I missed a name or something.
Also!
I'm sorry but now I'm thinking of how the songs I do know how to play would effect the world.
I know Zelda's Lullaby, Saria's song, and Epona's song. I love to think of how much those would calm the group and I think convincing Epona to choose me over anyone else in the moment with a song would be hilarious.
But more so, I am thinking of what you said about Ravio, and how you could summon him with his song, and that got my brain going on which songs would invoke which emotions and would be best in different scenarios.
For examples; (and I know what you're thinking, here I go again with a list. Maybe it's just me thinking that.)
Saria's song would be brilliant for cheering up Time if (as you mentioned) he is grumpy and bringing down the mood of the group, however it might also have the opposite effect and make him sad as he might miss Saria.
Song of Healing is used in Majora's Mask and maybe it could be used to lift the spirits of the group after a difficult fight, or even just feeling down after a long day.
I'd like to think hearing Epona's song would put them in a good mood, simply because most of them are happy to think of horses.
The Gerudo song might actually have mixed results, as for somebody like Wild, he has good memories of the Gerudo, but somebody like Time, who has had to fight Gerudo Bandits might have a different reaction.
Basically, my point is that different songs would probably have different effects on the group based on their experiences with the song.
So... I would like to present Player using that as a way to mess with Legend and anyone else who gets on their nerve, playing songs of specific enemies that nobody else knows but has that one Link looking around frantically (only playing those songs when not in that creatures world, of course, wouldn't want to summon it.)
Little pieces of songs that sound familiar but to those who don't believe the Player's 'story' about playing the game, in their perspective, Player shouldn't know this song.
So on so forth. Just, being helpful and caring often, yes, but also being evil and spiteful when need be.
-Fruit Anon (oh gosh this is a lot longer than I planned. I'm sorry!)
HI AGAIN FRUIT, DONT YOU EVER APOLOGISE FOR ANYTHING YOUR REQUESTS FUEL ME AND MAKE ME SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY. THE LISTS MAKE ME VERY HAPPY KNOWING HOW MUCH THOUGHT YOU PUT INTO IT AND HOW MUCH YOU'RE ENJOYING IT.
Also, you guys can address me as Cloud! Or Shoobirino! Even Maia (My actual name) I dont mind anything!
Okay let's get onto the post!
I would definitely agree with the approach on Sara's song! I would think that it would definitely be something that The Player introduces a little later into theirs and Time's friendship, or maybe when it clicks how he knows the Player. Maybe he's grumpy missing his home, but then he just hears Saria's old song and just melts, maybe might even have a prep in his step that you have to be really perceptive to catch.
The Song of healing an agreement as well! But also consider while not outright healing them of any wounds after battles, it actually releaves the pain for them, just a little.
Epona's song brings recognition to some, not everyone, but it certainly does make them think of horses. I especially like the idea of Epona kinda recognising it and just trotting along to the sound, maybe sticking to the Player's side.
Along with your ideas about the regions, that some bring good or bad memories, imagine them bringing the atmosphere and when I mean atmosphere I mean, playing the Gerudo Desert theme makes their skin heat up, or Zora's Domain brings the sensation of water or the Lost Wood makes them think of the forest, hearing the birds chirp the sound of leaves crunching, branches breaking and just fills them with the sense of the area.
