part of me Needs the official verified foundations of decay lyrics bc i need to know exactly what the words are but part of me actually thinks the different interpretations really add something to the overall listening experience. like today i saw “you must fix your heart / and you must build an altar where it swells” (as opposed to rests) and it totally flipped the meaning and that is so fucking cool. an altar of rest vs an altar of growth; both are equally vital and you really can’t even have one without the other, so it’s super cool that there’s an ambiguity there (at least for now.)
