Bwhaha, I just saw you'd answered the same and those were some surprising answers! I haven't really seen anyone around in the RS fandom with that particular set of faves! I was fascinated. :) My faves/least faves are more conventional, I suppose. Ah, well. Here we go.

Favourite character: Edmund Reid (oh, the wounded, flawed, but dedicated and well-meaning man trying to un-fuck his fucked-up world).

Funniest character: You know, I was going to say Jackson, but I think it's Fred Best.

Best-looking character: Reid. Followed by Albert Flight (I think he's a cutie).

3 favourite ships: Ed/Jane. Ed/Jane. And Ed/Jane. But, fine, if I have to pick others: Ed/Emily and Ed/Jackson.

Least favourite character: I'm sticking to main-ish characters here. And it's a tie between Croaker and Mimi (sorry, y'all, but I can't stand Mimi).

Least favourite ship: Mimi/Ed. Just...ugh, no. Also Ed/Shine and Ed/Bennet.

Reason why I watch it: It ticks so many boxes for me, aside from the fact that Matthew's in it. Great character-driven stuff. Fabulous writing overall. Top notch acting. Very high production value. Period drama. Has a very satisfying ending. There's a hint of Sherlock Holmes-ness to it. Has a little bit of everything--crime! love! political and social commentary! fisticuffs! hats! vests! fab cinematography! so many complex characters I can root for! It's just a really good show, okay?

Why I started watching it: Matthew was in it. I was working through his filmography at the time and this one really got me. My second-favorite thing he's ever done. :) What a show.
