my dad listens to joe rogan’s podcast and i was forced against my will to listen to it today while he was driving me back to my apartment. i had never actually listened to this man talk before, i just knew about him from bubbles of online discourse, but my god if he wasn’t infuriating to listen to

first 20 or so minute of the podcast episode was just him and his guest talking about academia forcing academics do “conform to woke ideology” where throughout most of it i was just thinking to myself “call me a brainwashed woke college student, but i’m 99% sure academia doesn’t work like this, and these people don’t understand how scientific theory works”

at some point though that topic derailed and rogan started talking about sex robots, cautioning that they were going to destroy human intimacy and make people “stop looking for mates and breeding” (his words). nothing can describe the brain melting feeling of hearing some grown man say that humans were going to go extinct because of sex robots. if you’re really worried about the longevity of the human race you’d think that you’d be talking about like, climate change or something, but no. sex robots are going to be end of us

but you know, they only really market sex robots towards men, so if rogan is right and these sex robots start replacing human partners for desperate lonely men (which i suppose is all of them? doesn’t sound right but a podcaster would never lie to me) then as a lesbian i will be thriving. come here ladies
