I HAVE DEFEATED THE TWISTING BEAST.

Now I bend the correct way on spins, AND (so long as my laptop's on power), I no longer outpace my hindbody on spins! You still outpace yourself on profound FPS drops, but there was an additional incoordination when that happened that I also just fixed.

This small dragon puppet is on a damped parent constraint to a target which is on the root of my avatar (moves with me, not shown, this is a dance where I wander around within my root), and then that target goes up and down and forward and back based on my hand-and-foot floats. End result is the hand puppet DANCES WITH ME!

This small companion animal (original, intended form of the avatar) grows to four times its size and rises up beneath me when flight is toggled. I hold on to its forehead and it flies me around. I'm not as wiggly as it is (NOWHERE NEAR) so I still have a little work to do on my custom flight animation. I'm gonna have to animate myself ribboning along as best I can on my odd AnyTaur rig.

@porch-gremlin and here's the new rig, same dance! I am now bending the OTHER direction on spins, like a horse does. would do. And I don't outpace my hind end! I don't uhhh. horseshoe theory it. You know.

Two hand-painted, complementary stripe patterns, and the world's most hamfistedly applied directional map. Combine in various configurations (mostly subtracting regular and inverted versions of the directional map from regular and inverted versions of the stripe patterns). My sharp stripes are doing Furality-specific special effects (iridescence on my hindbody's feet, scrolling rainbow effect, allegedly there's sparkles but I can't hardly ever see any); my rounded stripes are doing simple AudioLink red-and-blue.

I gave myself underwear. A ridiculous undertaking. It is so so so so so hard to make them look like anything other than a diaper and they still sort of do???

But anyway. I got wayyyyyyyyyyyy tired from gardening today. I dug like. five holes. helped mom plant. five things. maybe four. five. no it was five. exhausted.

anyway tomorrow I make SOCKS. SOCKS FOR MY ANYTAUR. If the socks go well, I shall attempt to turn them into novelty pantyhose.

Hmmm it seems to be working???? But I’m not sure my thigh constraint control transforms are… doing what I want… but I got THIS much working, without understanding it AT ALL.

These rigs aren't perfect, but they are entertaining, and they're better-coordinated under broader circumstances than IK rigs are.

one thing I’d like to revisit is the intermittent clunk in my hind.hips, since what I JUST IMPLEMENTED did not cause problems like that old reverse roll fix did. Might fuck around and come to grief over it; I can’t remember exactly how I implemented the reverse roll fix, maybe there’s daylight in there to do it more like THIS fix.

Those are gonna be as close to standard pantyhose behind as I can make them. I'm gonna blendshape my hind toes pressed a bit more together, and try to make the whole effect as unbaggy as I can.

Not 100% sure which set of limbs are going to get the shirt cuffs. (The existing bracelets are unrelated. Forgot to turn them off.)

Once I get this ironed out (and update the script, and the main project), the only actual last thing I'm gonna add to this avatar is proper retractile claws. I have tiger-accurate claws, but right now they retract by becoming pea-sized and moving inside my feet.

I want to look at cat paw references and properly rig my feet, making actual "extended claw position" toebean blendshapes, and putting actual bones for each claw, which I then animate swinging forward like real claws. You can't do this with blendshapes, you try to rotate something with a blendshape and it just blends through itself to get to the target position. Looks real bad. Hmmm..... rigged claws....
