Writer/Reader Survey
State your fanfiction pen name
sorryineverland/sgtduckybucky
Are you more of a reader or a writer?
I’m a bit of both but I honestly prefer to read than write.
When did you first start reading/writing fanfiction?
Reading : Started in late 2009 and I found this really cool My Chemical Romance fic in a website called Quizilla and ever since then, I NEVER stopped reading fanfics.
Writing: Somewhere around 2010. Although, my writing skills (spelling and grammar) were horrible and I had very bad plot ideas and most of them were cliche. But with each year, I got better and better :)
What’s the first fanfiction you ever read/wrote? What is it about?
Read : My Chemical Romance fic and it was about a vampire girl having a thing with Frankie and Gerard. I don't remember very well but it was good at that time.
The first thing I wrote was a story called trapped inside an alleviator with andy sixx, alex evans, oli sykes and max green and it was about  [wait for it] being trapped inside an allevaitor with those boys mentioned above.
Like I said, horrible and cliche.
What ratings do you read/write?
Anything really. But I prefer T rated stories with a couple of M rated chapters in them.
What was your first fandom?
lol the mcr fandom

Any fandom you would like to write in?
Nothing I can think of at the moment
What was your first ship?
Oh, wow. I don’t remember.
What is your favorite pairing to read/write for?
It changes from time to time
Is there any pairing you refuse to read/write?
Minors or incest ships/pairings
What do you think of het stories? Slash/? Femslash/Yuri?
oh my god, these terms are so old dshdjashgdajhdahd. I mean i don’t mind lol.
What is your favorite genre?
action, horror, thriller, Adventure, comedy, crime, supernatural and sometimes AU.
What is your least favorite genre?
angst and drama unless it has an amazing plot and isn't cliche. I also hate Slave/Master and Rich/Poor. Oh, and let's not forget the I've-been-hurt-so-I-don't-know-how-to-fall-in-love-until-blank-comes-along or I-can-no-longer-function-without-my-lover-now-that-we're-over or lastly, the I-feel-so-weak-useless-and-dumb-and-the-only-thing-I'm-good-at-is-crying-and-whining
Any genre you would like to read/write for?
I’d like to write some horror and supernatural genres.

Which writer inspires your own work?
No one really.
What story has the most impact to you, so much that you remember it all the time?
There was this story called One white blackbird and the author had amazing skills! Her plot idea is beautiful and I tried looking it up to write the summary of the story but I can’t find it, sadly. Basically, it was about the angels of deaths and their life.
Which website you use most to read/write fanfiction?
I used to write  and read on AFF but now I mostly write and read on tumblr and ao3
Any certain things you avoid reading/writing about?
I avoid incest, arranged marriage, minors, master/slave and anything rated as M or E.
What do you enjoy best about fanfiction in general?
How fanfiction can really help someone learn a language. How it can bring fans together and make friends. Practice your writing skills. Sharing your ideas with your friends/followers. And so much more.
Do you have any fanfiction pet peeves?
Arranged marriages and how someone being forced into one is ok with it just after a few months??????
Does the number of reviews tell how good a story is?
No. The plot does. I've read thousands of stories with high reviews, votes, subs, comments and their story isn’t that great. Some were, but those were few.
How long should a chapter be?
2000-3000 ish words. I don't like when stories are super long because I get the feeling that they're writing the whole story plot into that chapter and they keep dragging the story on and on and on so I lose interest
Have you ever flamed someone?
OH MY GOD WHAT AN OLD TERM!
but no, never.
Have you ever been flamed?
once or twice.
Do you roleplay online?
Nope.
(Writers Only)
How many published fanfictions have you written?
listen, I’ve been writing for a decade now and I’ve probably posted 100 stories over the years. Some were lost because I stupidly deleted my accounts or the website went down so I didn’t save my work. But ao3, I have six fics posted and I lost count on tumblr.
Which one of your fanfictions has the most words? The most views? The most comments? The most kudos?
Most words: 5,750
Most views: Sense8: The One Shot Series
Most comments: my Titanic AU.
Most kudos: Again, titanic au.
Most likes: idk my work on tumblr basically are in the 100s when it comes to likes
At the moment, which one of your fanfictions is your favorite/you are the most proud of? (you can include unpublished fanfictions)
My favorite is Sky so blue...in Malibu
Out of all characters you have written, which one do you feel you identify the most with?
Arya Stark
Do you use beta reader?
I used to but not anymore
What warnings have you used on your stories?
typos. in my recent work I mentioned abuse and rape but I also included an abuse hotline for the readers.
Do reviews affect how you write in any way?
Yes. If I get a lot of comments or the reader expresses themselves, I write more and longer fics even when I'm on writer’ss block. It shows that people like my work.
What makes you happy the most as a writer?
When people comment
Do you generally outline your fanfictions or do you prefer to write spontaneously then revise?
A bit of both. Sometimes, I think of a plot while listening to music or in the shower and there’s an outline of it in my head. Most of the time I just write spontaneously.
Have you ever stolen something from another person’s work?
No, never.
What do you feel is your biggest challenge when writing?
Character personality, character development, portraying scenery and description.
Do you have any certain ritual to do before/while/after you write?
Have Google open in 3 tabs just in case I wanted to know if a word/object/food/ect actually existed and so I can look at pictures when I’m describing a scenery. I also listen to music when I’m writing.
Do you actively advertise your story or request for reviews/upvotes?
I used to back in my AFF days and I always failed lol. I sometimes ask for readers to comment on my work but I rarely receive any.
Would you ever want a trailer for a fanfiction you’ve written to be made?
I actually had maybe two or three trailers made for my fanfics on aff lol
Anyways, so that was it. I know, it’s long but it was fun!
I tag: @stvlti @babe-with-thepower @baozibunns and any author/writer that wants to do this
