while i was sitting at home with my cast and then recovering i was mostly either at home or at work, sometimes going to small cafes with friends. i didn’t really go out into the public, like popular spots or grocery stores, places like that. and i’ve started to, this past week. what this whole prologue is for, is that i genuinely forgot how many more white (predominantly russian) people live in Almaty now

#like. we went out for brunch yesterday and idk i think russians start their days off earlier or what but when we came in it was all white #i literally sat down with the words wtf is this colonised territory #as it got later more kazakh and other ethnicities came in and i relaxed lol #but still. i’m at a mall rn looking for new books and the amount of white people is shocking. i think i forgot how many we have now
