💯 A fic that makes you think #writergoals

oh. oh there's. SO MANY. SO MANYYYY.

before i go insane about the writers i love here's a few fics that changed my entire life:

Tarentelle and Honey and Butter by Morethancupcake: these fics have such a hazy, beautiful, syrupy quality to them that I'm MESMERIZED. they're purple prose, which i love. and they just kind of have you sinking into this headspace where you're basically floating into the story and not doing much else. I. JUST. GOD I WISH.

West virginia, mountain mama series by fleurmatisse: again. gosh. the prose. SANA THE PROSE!!! it's also got such a romantic quality to it i want to dieeeee

this one stucky fic that's a court case : mostly for the different formats that this fic uses. I've always wanted to do a mixedmedia story but I'm just. NOT THERE YET. as a writer. so i am always floored when people do do it!

Fenario by @sodomitecastiel : i read this fic. and i just. you know what i felt ? i felt like writing. i felt like going outside and DOING SOEMTHING. like. it made me want to make art and find things that make life beautiful. i don't even know how you can be so good at something that it reawakens the spirit but oh my god. what an inspiration honestly.

other than this: there's a bunch of writers on ao3 who I'd give my left leg and arm to have the talent of fr. naming the authors bc i would literally read ANYTHING by them. there's no "one fic" i can pick and choose here: @outdean , focacciabread, watchriverdale, cowlovely (hiii @cowlovely), @faithdeans , YOU, prosopopeya, aileenrose, kototyph, @shelikestv, fleeceframe, @angelcasendgame, everandanon, @one-more-offbeat-anthem, @skepticalfrog , ricochetdean, komodobits, @goldenraeofsun, xylodemon, spocklee, Annie D, and I'm missing SO MANY BUT OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD!!!

also. this one fic that fucking ruined me is no longer on ao3 (god bless I have a pdf 😭) and i don't even remember the author's most recent @ before they deactivated, but it's called Out to Drift and their older username was beenghosting and I'm OBSESSED WITH THEM SO MUCH OUGH!!!

mostly my taste is fics that have a lot of sensory stuff going on and they have this musical quality to them. but sometimes I read a fic that's so grounded and has dialogue and that gritty, in-the-groud quality to it and i know I'll never be able to write that way but i have so much. like. appreciation for them and they make me want to. like. TRY. anyway. this was so long and stupid but THANK YOUUU FOR THIS ASK MWAH <33
