I think my favorite part of the Emily quitting the DAR and going to be a tour guide at a whaling museum is the sheer fact that as much as the DAR loved gossip and scandal and drama they absolutely would be horrified by the way she was describing the vicious murder of the whale with her enthusiastic expressions and even gesticulations. Emily Gilmore would have ruffled the feathers of those DAR ladies so hard if they saw her and that, on top of her finding something to do with herself after Richard died, is the sweetest topping on that cake that I can imagine.

I like to imagine Lorelai and Rory go occasionally and are so proud of her but also like "This is horrifying to listen to!" "Oh, don't I know it, kid." "... Good for grandma." looking at Emily up there.
