things i love about kilen wang's character:
like right off the bat in ep 1, the script sets lian up to be a huge asshole with the shit that he outwardly says especially in that dialogue with kuea (featuring the iconic anabelle nickname) but all i can think about is that little convo in the side room where he went to look for a document and kuea peeks in and they start talking from there
"the only person you've ever known is me, so maybe that's why..."
P'AOF I AM ON THE FLOOR 馃槶馃槶馃槶
watching the behind the scenes and hearing the acting coach run them thru exactly how they wanted lian to come across in that moment perhaps drove me a little nuts because everything that the acting coach pointed out came thru and zee nailed the execution imo
that one little line and all his consistent aloof expressions with just a little hint of his inner feelings shining thru, breaking thru in bits and pieces and flashes?????? send help zee pruk panich wants me dead UGH i remember loving his portrayal of fighter in why r u and hes grown SOOO much in cutie pie and im so glad to be able to watch the improvements and how hes refined his raw talent for nailing the right emotions into his performance in cutie pie

im also yelling about how mr lian realized he might actually lose kuea and got off his ass within an episode or two and decided straight up that "things cant continue like this (or else i might regret BIG time)" and he wasted no time fucking around and i absolutely love that majority of the first half delved into the bits that most dramas ive watched deal with in their second halves
i love that we don't have to sit thru 5 episodes of lian dragging his feet and wondering if he should gather himself by the balls and do it or not!!!!! i love a good wife chasing plot and i am so delighted to have had that delivered in cutie pie

after rewatching cutie pie again i have to say, the amount of thought and consideration the whole production team put into the show is incredible it really does feel like someone reassuring me that there are allies out there who care and who support queer people, who will fight with queer people for their rights, and who believe that queer people deserve these rights
not to mention that i absolutely love how with every conflict, there is never any invalidation or gaslighting like "aww im sure he doesnt mean it that way" or "it is your fault that i experienced this emotion and chose to behave this way"!!!!! at every step of the way, all the characters are allowed to feel their emotions, are never told they shouldnt feel a certain way, but the script always holds them accountable for their own behaviour
apologies are given when a character fucks up, without the whole elaborate mess of "excuse me, you did shit to me that was unacceptable, arent you sorry for that?" coming from the person who was hurt. every character always owns their shit in a way and never writes it off. the depth of emotional maturity coming from the entire cast of characters is STUNNING and i love that so much
i dont think ive watched any other drama where the protagonist's love interest is so open and forthcoming with his apologies as much as lian. he never winces away from his mistakes, whether it be toward kuea or anyone else. when he said he wants to be someone who kuea can rely on and trust, he really does keep constantly working towards that in every single way possible.
im never getting over how lost in the sauce zee portrays lian. that man took one look at kuea as an infant and was like "im about to make this newborn my whole ass personality" AND I LOVE IT SO DAMNED MUCH
that scene in the kitchen with the rice paddle? SIR, I AM RAISING THE WHITE FLAG I AM SURRENDERING "thank you for growing up to be my source of happiness"? send help
