the info post is up publicly there, but the TLDR is that 1) I was overworking myself and need to do less and 2) I need to focus less on illustration and more on my VR concept art career... which sucks for a lot of reasons obviously 💔

the good news is I will still be working on Sunder! I’m keeping that as my one personal project, but I am dedicating all the rest of my time towards teaching myself new skills for the VR industry and building my portfolio

#auropost #i will also still be doing limited commission batches in the future #and i’ll be finishing everything in the current commission queue #everyone has been very understanding so far #but i still feel bad about this #i really resent the fact that i’m having to give up things i love in the pursuit of money #i’ve just never been able to earn a living wage with 2d illustration despite years of trying #but working in the vr industry HAS paid me a living wage for my art for the first time in my life #and i feel like if i don’t pursue this thread i will regret it #anyways it’s a hard decision and not an ideal situation #but with algorithms on other sites working against me i gotta take things into my own hands #because i don’t think waiting around to go viral on tiktok/insta/twitter is feasible #it’s crazy how my celestial illustrations ONLY did well on tumblr and completely flopped everywhere else #but yeah. capitalism. algorithms. evil. all of them
