Fun Fact: When I don't know how to write a character in their natural habitat, I will first drop them into either a Medieval or Mafia au. Then, miraculously, I know how to wrote for them.

#My first drabblecwith Pretender after designing him was to plop him into a mafia!au #he was a Private Eye who fell in love w/ one of the mobsters by accident and ended up finding a #place where he wasn't outcasted/used for his magic and instead his observational skills he trained himself #made him valuable abd so he decided he had Unwavering trust in the one (1) character #and oh boy can u guess what fuels Pretender in the normal story? Helping others and learning to trust. and live. and love. again. #and it's different but follows the same themes #meanwhile remembering Orchid and putting her in a mafia AU results in her being a pampered daughter of a head honcho #who gets into trouble with a kid her age and she uses her power to help him (sonewhat) but also has to navigate #being a teenager. and having an unlady-like attitude. and being so stubborn and unwilling to Say how much she cares about her friend. #and it's not a story about Love but Devotion and Care and it's mininterpreted by the other characters and WOOOOOO #<- lost my mind a bit but legit this method works every time for me #spot q #only the gods know when this monstrosity will go out
