And if you can't pick between the brothers? Well, don't worry!
Tumblr media
But wait, you didn't think I'd forget Candace, now did you?
Tumblr media
"But Bex, I love ALL THREE OF THEM!" So does Perry, you just know he keeps this on his desk:
Tumblr media
Did I reuse some photos here and there? Yes, yes I did. Some of them were too cute not to.
Feel free to use these as you please, I made them to be shared.
And ofc, a bonus, because I couldn't not make Stacy one:

Like Candace straight up tells Perry to leave and save himself
Tumblr media
and he says "absolutely the fuck not" and is determined to come back for her
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then once he rescues her he doesn't leave her until she's safe again-
Tumblr media
-which isn't until the dream is over

Always found it interesting how Doof is the antagonist of Candace's dream.
Like yeah, yeah, plot purposes, funny writing, all that aside
It's Candace's subconscious. You would assume the wicked witch would have been Suzy. Instead, Suzy is just a pair of legs under a house. No, Candace's antagonist...is Perry's nemesis.
She has met Heinz, at this point in the series, one time - Badbeard Island, when she thought she was hallucinating on moss. When she "found out" Perry was a secret agent, but then brushed it off as it all just being in her head.
This whole episode is just evidence of the fact that, in the back of her mind, Candace is very aware that Perry is a secret agent. She knows who his enemy is, and you could even draw him being the "witch" as a call back to "The sea hag!" line - another name for witches is a hag.
That, combined with her interactions with Perry as an agent in this dream world, prove that she actually remembers a lot about her time "high" on the moss . Agent P, in Candace's dream, does all he can in his power to save her - much like he did on Badbeard Island. And I think it's really interesting to realize that if Candace thought for just a little too long about that moss incident and this dream, she'd most likely put two and two together.

To recap, here were Stacy's priorities upon finding out about Perry, and my thoughts on them:
1. "Why are you wearing a hat???" - why is everyone so focused on the hat immediately what's that about
2. "Who's this dude in my house?" - valid response, stranger danger
3. "ARE you a veterinarian?" - Stacy pls your house has been demolished
4. "Is this where you go everyday?" - understandable question, if I saw my friend's pet platypus fighting evil I'd also wonder if it was a one time thing
5. "You're making a fucking mess" - also valid, her mom's gonna KILL her
6. "Do the Flynn-Fletchers KNOW you fight evil?" - ah, finally asking the real questions
7. "Is all this shit really necessary?" - no cause she has a point
8. "I don't want Candace and the boys to lose you" - stop bc my heart at the sheer fact that she specified Candace first even though Perry is primarily Phineas and Ferb's pet, but Stacy knows that Candace would be equally devastated if Perry was forced to relocate. But also this line coming BEFORE the next line implies that if Perry had insisted, she would have willingly gone through with the memory erasing so her best friend and her family wouldn't lose their pet. Also the sheer fact that she's known for all of four and a half minutes that Perry is an agent but she can still see plain as day on his face that he loves them and considers them more than a host family, there is not one time in this scene where she questions if he's just using them as a cover because she just instantly knows that that's not the case
9. "I don't wanna watch that scary movie again" - valid, but Stacy, my love, you wouldn't remember you had watched it
Anyway Stacy Hirano deserved better after this episode but also girl your priorities are in WHACK order

Relistening to Step Into the Great Unknown (I maintain it should've been in the movie) and my English analyst brain just...hnng
Phineas is using "we" to refer to all five of them while going to rescue Candace, and then in the second verse he says "we're gonna save our sister, nothing's gonna hold us back." Now they (probably) wouldn't change the meaning of the pronoun for a single line, which means that not only do the other kids fully see Candace as their older sister, but Phineas and Ferb know they see her that way and they're like hella chill about it
All this to say the other three absolutely refer to Candace as their sister when asked

That theory that at some point while Candace was dreaming, Perry found her passed out on the floor, pulled her into bed, and then stayed with her to make sure she was okay?
Tumblr media
That's canon, and no one can convince me otherwise.

I've mentioned before how frustrated I get by how shoved aside Ferb was in a lot of Phineas and Ferb specials (looking at you, ATSD and Last Day of Summer), but after rewatching SBTY I realized that it actually did a good job with him.
"No matter where we go, Ferb knows everyone."
"I'm not flooding it," aka literally the only time in the show that we ever hear Ferb get snippy with his brother.
The whole Eiffel Tower scene with Vanessa
His whole scene with Isabella on the deserted island, come on
"Ferb's map!!" his preparedness literally saves the day
We talk a lot about Phineas' freak out and the "GET ON THE TRIKE" bit lol, and obviously the scene between Candace and Jeremy, but this special actually focused super heavily on Ferb, and it's nice.

Listen I never talk about the parents on here but I have a love for Lawrence like no other.
Like first of all, he is WELL aware of what Phineas and Ferb do on the daily and he just fuckin rolls with it. Kids built a monster truck? All right, buckle up. Kids refurbished his old bi-plane so he can go on a flight with his dad? Fantastic, come along for the flight. The boys are painted completely black and white and running a detective case? Cool, how can I help? He's so chill
Also he spends so much time with his kids, all of them, and it's wonderful. Helping Candace learn to drive, helping Phineas and Ferb make a movie for a film fest, doing the father daughter race with Candace every single year. He literally loves them so much, that when he became evil just seeing his sons snapped him out of it. 10/10, would like him to be my father.
Can't forget to mention he's the only family member who ACTUALLY found out about Perry by himself - Perry revealed himself to Phineas and Ferb, and Candace thought she was hallucinating and wrote it off as a dream. Lawrence actually saw Perry as an agent, and his reaction was not anger or betrayal, it was, "I don't think I was supposed to see that." He's always been a very easy going parent, and that line alone combined with that trait makes me think that if he hadn't fallen into the memory eraser, he would have kept Perry's secret even from him (or at least tried to)
Anyway. I'd die for Lawrence Fletcher.

Listening to Adulting again (rip my Spotify top 100) and I just find it SO fucking funny how much Dr. D and Isabella antagonized each other cause like
We've seen in ATSD and Night of the Living Pharmacists and probs a few other episodes (like Bully Bromance Breakup) that Doof has NO issue taking direction from children - he never questions Phineas and Ferb, and even in their few interactions they have, he never questions Candace either.
Where was that post like "In the absence of Perry Doof finds the first small child with a hat and fights them?" It really is just the hat, isn't it?
