Meet The Blogger - Paolo Avis
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Paolo Avis who runs Hey Paolo Blog. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog? Lifestyle blogger featuring the stories of people, places, and events in Adelaide, South Australia. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? I’ve initially created this blog back in September 2019 to reach out to my fellow migrants and those who are also planning to migrate to South Australia for them to learn more about how it’s like living here. It was mostly an awkward beginning as I struggled with creating content, finding my voice, and understanding my personal branding. It took a lot of positive criticisms from my dear friends before I knocked my head and came to my senses. As I create more and more content, I discovered that I’ll be a blogger who aims to spark conversations with people I meet here in Adelaide, South Australia. I’ll ask them tons and tons of questions (it can be serious or it can be trivial) with the objective of creating insightful dialogues for me to learn more about them, their stories, and their life learnings. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? I love connecting with people and it gives me positive energy. I try to hit two birds with one stone: learning more about them/their stories and translating those into blog content. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? As much as possible, I try to post daily content on Instagram and with at least 1-2x posts per week on my Wordpress blog site. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? What works best for me is Instagram. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Blogging for me is a creative release more than anything. If you have something positive and constructive content to share to your desired audience, then why not? A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? I think more than looking at display ads on your blog site or getting product sponsors, we should also look at how the products/services that you're promoting on behalf of your clients/sponsors be beneficial to your audience. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? Setting up interviews and connecting with people have been a breeze so far, but writing the stories afterwards and editing the videos take a lot of time and effort from my part as I really need to devout a good amount of time to produce these. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? Making friends and real connections with the people I feature on my blog. Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why? I look up to Bianca Gonzalez-Intal (Instagram: @iamsuperbianca), a celebrity/TV host/book author/vlogger in the Philippines. She was a Communications major in the same university where I studied for college (Ateneo de Manila University). She's an inspiration because she uses her online platforms and social media to create meaningful conversations with people while sharing valuable thoughts and information with her own followers. What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out? Just continue creating and creating content. Later on, you'll find your niche ad your own tribe. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with I love creating with brands and I look forward to working with more in the future. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? It's amazing that there are blogs out there who also get to know their fellow bloggers. Meet the Blogger - Khyati Maloo
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Khyati Maloo who runs khyati maloo Blog. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog? I am a full time digital marketer and a part time traveler. Super passionate about travel writing! If I am not working on a marketing plan or travelling you’d find me either scuba diving or glued to a book with a cup of coffee. My blog "Of miles and musings" is all about travel and my personal experiences! Main focus being a comprehensive guide to each destination I have been to, with destination specific tips to travel on a budget and as a vegan! My blog is also peppered with listicles/travel essay/journal entry like- How to save money to travel, A love letter to Prague and the like! Describe what inspired you to start your blog? I have always been passionate about writing, right from school. Every time I travelled I'd end up writing an e-mail/document to my friends and family sharing my experience. A lot of them started calling me to give specific information about destination that they planned to visit. So I thought why not repository of all my posts in form of a blog have! So there it was, I started my blog just like that. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? Maintaining a blog is a full time job! Juggling that with your day job can be extremely difficult. But if you want to stay in the game, you have got to do what it takes. One thing that motivates me is when my followers love. When they message me saying "Your blog posts inspired me to go to that destination" or even "I can't believe I managed to travel with that low a budget! Thanks to you" I am filled with joy and the will to inspire all of them out there. Another thing is the sheer love for writing, it is a hobby that keeps me going. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? I try and do 1 blog post a week and least 5 social media posts a week (sometimes more). Social media has proved to be the best way to communicate with my followers. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? When it comes to social strategy there is no one shoe fit all! Also a number of things done right leads to results. But if someone is just starting out or is struggling to find the time they should do these: Post regularly- even if you don't have new posts on the blog get creative and promote them on social Engage with other accounts - extremely important to build a network on social Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Most definitely yes! Blogging gave my life a new meaning. If you remotely like to pen down your experience then blog, share it with the world. You never know who you'd end up inspiring. And how up-skill yourself. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? Yes, you can make money online with blogging. Is it easy? No! I have two words for everyone who wishes to monetise their blog: Consistency and Patience. Nothing comes easy in the blogging world, its a fruit of labour and hard work. Make a 6 month to a year long plan, work everyday to achieve them. Results take time, stay patient and keep working towards your goal. Bonus tip: get creative! There is more than one way to make money via your blogs. Many of them think placing ads is the only/easiest way. Yes, it is easy but you can do so much more. Like add affiliate links, sell a product, sell a service, sell your book! World is your oyster and its the survival of the creative-est. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? My blog started off as a hobby, later on it moved on to become my portfolio and before I know it I had bought a domain and ready to monetise my blog. Now at each of these stages my blog looked a certain way. My most difficult moment was to make it look professional, the design aspect of it. Truth be told I am still not a 100% done, I am improving it slowly. I suppose this was because this blog is a 1 woman show, I haven't outsourced any of the work which is why I am not able to do justice to all the things that need to be done. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? Having scuba dived in 5 different countries (Jordan, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Malaysia), it is only the beginning. I wish to scuba dive across all seas! Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why? Matthew Kepnes of the nomadic matt, hands down the best travel blogger out there! I have been reading his blogs since the inception. I love how well he articulates his journey, his tips and hacks are so well explained. His content is not boring/repetitive it wants me to come back for more. I love his newsletter outreach to promote his blogs, his writing style is casual and conversational that makes you want to even read a newsletter! I mean in the day I wouldn't want another newsletter crowding my inbox, but I eagerly wait for his. What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out? Stay focused! Many a time you'd want to give up or just wished there was an easy way out. I hate to break it to you there is no easy way! Keep consistent and stay patient, this will help you stay top of mind. If you don't post for a couple of weeks your audience will find whatever they need somewhere else! The pond is full of fish! Remember out of sigh out of mind! Also, get creative. Like I said the pond is full of fish, you need to stand out for people to notice you, for search engines to rank you. What is your unique proposition? Are you yet another travel guide? Great but add something more than what your competition is doing. If you aren't creative or unique you won't survive for long. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with No I have not collaborated with brands yet. Though it is in my long term plan, I'd love to share more on this once I collaborate. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? It is fantastic community of bloggers. A great place to find some amazing content. Absolutely love their blogger interview section, got great learnings. Meet the Blogger - Lucille van Ommeren-Kerman
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with  Lucille van Ommeren-Kerman who runs Anastasiasword Blog. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog? I'm a 26-year-old happily married woman. I love writing, reading, creating, watching good movies, singing, and doing fun stuff with my husband, relatives, and friends. My blog is a place where I want to help people to discover themselves and help them live a life, they are truly happy and passionate about. I write blogs about mental health, self-love, self-care, self-improvement. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? At some point in life, I felt I wasn’t happy about how certain things in my life were going. I had a feeling that I could live a life I was more passionate about. As advised by my husband, I talked a lot to my pastor and friend. One of the best advices she gave me, was to find out what I liked and enjoyed, to get to know myself better. What my hobbies were. I did that and I realized that all this time I neglected what I really liked doing. I remembered that as a kid I started a ‘documentary book’, which I sadly must have thrown out by now. I also realized that years ago I started writing a book, and that I loved reading and creating things. I also remembered all the times I worked on other peoples their articles at work (I work as an associate editor), thinking about how great it would be if one day someone was editing my work. After a lot of searching, I finally knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to write, I wanted to have my own platform where I can write, create, and help others. Where I can use my imagination. Where I can help others go through what I went through. I realized that knowing who you are and what you want out of life play a big part in your mental health and happiness. And so, my dream started. I wrote my first novelette and I bought a domain to start my blog. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? I have a dream of what I want to achieve with my passion. To be a successful blogger and author and make an impact on people’s lives. And reaching that goal is my biggest motivation. To look back one day and remember that it all started with a simple blog. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? I post a new blog once a week. I don’t have a lot of followers yet, but I try to reply to comments almost every day. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? Engaging with your audience, by replying to comments and messages. But also focusing on what your audience wants. What kind of posts get more attention, what will help your audience? Also try to post consistently. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Yes definitely. It is a great feeling to have your own space and platform to share your stories and advice with others. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? I don’t know about the easy part, but I have read stories from successful bloggers that do inspire me. Personally, I’m not making any money with my blog yet, because my blog is relatively young, but I’m looking forward to it. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? So far it would be growing my email subscribers and joining affiliate programs. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? Writing my first novelette. Who is your blogging hero And Why? The first blog I came across that made me see that it was possible to make a living as a blogger, was Taylor Stanford her blog. And after that, I came across Cathrin Manning, who I think is one of the most open and honest bloggers and I learned a lot from her. It is inspiring to see what these two have accomplished so far. What advice would you give to a new blogger starting out? Just start! Don’t overthink it, if you know this is what you want, just do it. Start writing and posting, don’t stress over the small stuff like the color or appearance of your website. You can always change that afterward. Any day you wait is a day further away from your goal. Keep educating yourself and believe in yourself, join Facebook groups with fellow bloggers, and follow people on social media platforms whom you can learn from. Enjoy the journey and don’t give up, because good things take time. Have you collaborated with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with No, I haven’t yet, but I’m planning to. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? I think that it is a great thing to feature bloggers and allowing them to share their stories. I am thankful that I to had this opportunity. And this is one of the great things I have been able to do since I started my blog. Meet The Blogger - Mecyll Gaspary
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Mecyll Gaspary who runs mgaspary blog and an aspiring Filipino best-selling author. How To Start Blogging, Earn Your First $500, & Succeed Without Getting Overwhelmed 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog? Hi, I am Mecyll Gaspary, an aspiring Filipino best-selling author, blogger, and freelance writer. My interest in writing combined with work-related experiences as a writer led me to create my blog into a useful resource for writers like me in the public domain. 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? I began my blogging journey back in 2015 when I met a co-writer on a news website where I worked before. She told me she made money from blogging anything. So, that caught my interest in the blog as a potential to add income streams. It wasn’t easy, though. I started with Miss Creative Journaler (nulled) as my first professional blog where I bought web hosting packages and all that stuff. After I failed, I started again with another website and failed again until I finally made up my mind to create my professional website where I can showcase my strengths as a writer and help other struggling writers to make money using their skills online. 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? I’m a productivity geek. Desperate to perform more and see more progress in my endeavors, I scoured the internet to find solutions for my dilemma: procrastination. While working full-time as a content writer, I tried to spare time for my blog despite the mental exhaustion and fatigue. I tried many ways to remain productive and followed different people’s tips but nothing worked for me. What I do is to know how my body works in rhythm with my mind. My head may tell me I need to finish the task but I have to make sure my energy equates to become ultra-productive. For instance, I wake up in the morning and the adrenaline rushes, I have to finish as many tasks as possible before the euphoria fades. This isn’t laziness for me. Surprisingly, I accomplish more when I follow this system rather than forcing myself to do something for the sake of productivity. If I failed to align my work rhythm and forced myself to accomplish a task, I tend to procrastinate and stay away from my desk. This is why I need to consider myself in the process. It’s the same thing I suggest you do. Listen to your body and respect how it works. If you push yourself too hard as I did, you will not enjoy the process of doing anything, including your blog. I once believed that when I do more, I make more progress. That was my old productivity principle. It wasn’t the case. I succumbed to writer’s block to the point I couldn’t write a word again. Imagine a writer who can’t even hold a pen and a notebook to scribble a single word. That’s a painful, unimaginable situation most writers can’t avoid (unless if they follow the same productivity strategy I did). Many people define self-discipline as doing the same thing every single day. It doesn’t matter if you’re tired, keep going until you see results. However, I beg to disagree. It’s also important to listen to your body when to do things and not to do things. Rest if you have to. But that doesn’t mean you quit. When your mind and body align, you unknowingly become more productive than you think.  4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? I communicate with my audience weekly. With the help of automation, I send weekly emails to my subscribers, as well as pin posts on Pinterest via Tailwind App, which is my go-to-platform to schedule my pins. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? Video presentation suits better than most strategies I tried. This is the best option for Facebook and Instagram as the posts perform best when it’s in a video format than photos alone. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with sticking with photo posts, though. When you prefer using Pinterest, on the other hand, it follows a different strategy. You need to join group boards and Tailwind Tribes by collaborating with other pinners. Your posts will not perform better if you stick on pinning on your boards without the help from others. This is what makes Pinterest different as to how you execute social media strategies on Facebook and Instagram - the reason for bloggers to love this platform. 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Yes, definitely. My writing career began when I started writing blog posts. Although I have been blogging since 2012, I got into the business side of it in 2015. Without my blog, I wouldn’t have discovered vast opportunities waiting for me ahead. For instance, earning $5,000 as a writer wouldn’t have been possible without considering blogging as a stepping stone for that success. 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? Out of all the tips and strategies suggested by experts, successful bloggers, as well as authors, this one is at the top priority. Create phenomenal content. Regardless of the SEO - which also plays a big role in getting more web traffic - Google values unique and high-quality content. After its algorithm change not too long ago, many big websites that published outdated posts and invaluable content faced devastating effects. It was the first time in history that the big sites like Daily Mail UK witnessed plummeting website traffic. At the time, small websites were facing a big threat. However, it was otherwise. Consequently, it gives opportunities for small websites with quality content to rise on the top search engine results aka SERP. This proves that writing epic posts work for all online content. It’s a must for bloggers to gain traction. When you keep creating epic or cornerstone content, you don’t need to chase money. It’s drawn to you. It doesn’t matter if you’re an affiliate marketer, blogger, freelance writer, or author. The easy way to start making money online is by creating phenomenal content that hooks your audience to the bone. A post that will engrave in their minds and will never be forgotten. Your content is too valuable and irresistible, pushing them to take action i.e. purchase the product, sign-up on your email lists, etc. 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? It’s when I have to blog while working full-time as a writer for someone else while performing my household duties as a wife. Fortunately, I didn’t have children yet so it wasn’t as stressful compared to mother bloggers whom I offer my salute to. 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? I was a student council president in one of the top universities in the Philippines. During my term, I several organized programs for the students, especially the scholars and the unfortunate young students in our city. Initially, the program for the scholars I developed with the help of my team was exclusive to one college. Over the years, the program grew into an annual university activity wherein all the scholars undergo orientation to help them assess their academic performance better. With the other program, it was created to discover potential young leaders who are less fortunate within the city. With the help of my team, we scoured the city to search the youth to train and excel as future leaders of the country. Given the scale of the program, it was no surprise that it garnered awards from the university’s award-giving body. Although it took years for developing that program (from my term to the next 2 student council presidents), it was worth it. 10. Who is your blogging hero and why? Several names appear in my head the moment I read this question. Over the years of studying hundreds of thousands of content in the public domain, I encountered great bloggers who happen to be best-selling authors. To name one, I have been following Jeff Goins, a blogger, and best-selling author, since 2015. That’s when I got serious with blogging. His influence is big enough to push me to self-publish my book, which I’m working on right now. “Just write,” he always mentions in most of his blog posts. There’s no other way for someone to become a writer but to write. Nothing else. 11. What advice would you give to a new blogger starting out? Don’t be scared. Just don’t. Many of us tend to scour the internet to search for potential niches we might like to do, especially when we’re just about to start it. When we do, we see massive topics to try without knowing these could potentially threaten our drive to start a blog and continue. The internet provides a lot of information about every single thing. This overwhelms you so much that you’re scared to try writing something because you thought, “Anyway, somebody has probably written about it. Why would I bother?” Or, you might be thinking too much about web traffic, SEO, and all the technical side of blogging that compromises the quality of our work. Our drive to blog is to share our experiences with our audience. And if we’re too distracted with the plugins, Google algorithm, etc., we might lose the spark we once had when we started. A piece of advice? Start writing for yourself. Write epic posts you love to read over and over again. I know this sounds like a bit of advice for fiction writers but the same principle applies to the blog. Just write. That’s it. 12. Have you collaborated with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with If this includes the affiliated programs I partnered with and made money from it, these include Your Online Revenue LLC, Grammarly, WP Engine, Tailwind App, and Dabble Writer. 13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? First of all, I’d like to thank BloggerMagazine for giving me this wonderful opportunity to share my thoughts with your amazing audience. This is because, for me, BloggerMagazine is a great hub for the most inspiring and creative bloggers on the planet. That’s why I’m so grateful to be featured in your great community. On my blog, I mostly talk about books – reviews, interviews, etc. With each day, I make a new effort at making my blog, my exclusive space, better and more valuable. 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? My love for writing pushed me to create a blog. It was started at the spur of the moment, in 2016. It was only in 2017 that I turned more serious toward developing it. I started reviewing books and writing bookish content on it. I kept on experimenting, reading, researching. As I got more involved into book blogging, the blog became my valuable asset. And that was how Bookish Fame truly came into being. 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? I believe that my passion for book blogging motivates me. There’s this thing – if you want to do great work, do what you love. I love writing about books and I aspire to take Bookish Fame to greater heights. This dream itself pumps me up instantly and keeps me hustling harder. 4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? I usually do 4-5 posts a week on my blog. I do respond to all the comments on a regular basis. I am more active on Instagram where I post daily and keep engaging with my readers. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? Take my word for it – be consistent with your content and engage. Blogging is all about expressing yourself and building a community. It is not just about you, it is also about who are listening to you. Create content which is valuable and relatable, something that addresses problems of your readers and provides a solution. Focus on building yourself as a brand and building meaningful relationships with your readers too. 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Of course. It is super easy. Even if you find having a blog or website cumbersome, you might probably opt for micro blogging sites such as Instagram or Facebook. Have a blog only if you are ready to be truly committed to it. Or else, there are tons of other things you can do J 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? I usually earn through the books I review on my blog. I haven’t yet ventured into converting my blog into a website so monetization isn’t an option for me. You might do sponsored posts, affiliate marketing, and display ads on your blog to earn. But don’t just make it a money minting machine. Put your heart into it. Show it through your work that you value your blog and only then, people would value you. 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? I haven’t encountered a challenging moment so far. But whenever it would crop up, I know I’ll sail through it. 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? I am a published author of 5 anthologies. I am yet to achieve bigger things, I guess. 10. Who is your blogging hero And Why? In my niche, I absolutely adore Vidhya Thakkar. She’s an amazing book blogger who takes her blog seriously and works for it diligently. 11. What advice would you give to a new blogger starting out? Be patient. Do not think that you’re going to be successful over night or that money would come by easily. No. Blogging asks for dedication and passion. It also asks for inquisitive human with a hunger to learn more and do more. Only then, you can create an impact. Above all, love what you are doing. 12. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with I have collaborated with publishing houses such as Bloomsbury, Penguin, Hachette India, Rupa publications, Fingerprint publishing. 13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? I appreciate BloggerMagazine’s initiative of hearing the bloggers out and creating a collaborative platform for them. Keep up the good work, team. Meet the Blogger - Sophie Chennell
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Sophie Chennell who runs Sophie Joan blog. 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?  Hi, my name is Sophie Chennell, I am 21 years old from Worthing. I was originally born in Horsham, West Sussex so I’ve never strayed far from home. I studied Photography at The University of Portsmouth, where I graduated last July! It’s gone very quickly, too quickly for my liking. You’ll either find me blogging, nestled into a book in the corner, binge watching a Netflix series or enjoying a workout. I also love pugs! My blog, Sophie Joan, is focused around life updates, book reviews, beauty reviews, mental health topics and most currently an interview series. Basically, anything that comes out of my mouth, I talk about haha! You wouldn’t want to meet me in person, I’d chew your ear off (not literally)! 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog?  I’ve always loved writing ever since I was a little girl. I always used to write creative stories and get my family to read them, persistently haha. I grew up with my grandad and my mum loving photography too, so joining my two passions together was no brainer. 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?  Once I am focused and passionate about something, that’s what keeps me going. I think if your passionate enough and you’ve got clear goals, you can do anything you put your mind to. 4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers?  I am as active as I can be! I work 9-6 remotely at the moment, due to our current situation so any chance I have I am always blogging. You’ll find me in the evenings still at my desk till 11pm which I know is really bad, but eventually all this hard work will pay off. I always communicate with my followers, it’s the best feeling in the world having support from others and giving it back. The blogging community is what keeps me going. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? You need to know who your audience are and what content is relevant right now. People will read what is most popular and also what is most personal. That’s the content I have found has done the best on my blog. 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog?  100%!! Starting my blog is the best thing I have ever done, I have made tons of new friendships, and gained so much experience and knowledge from doing what I love. 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog?  I am currently myself looking into how to monetise my blog, I have only been running my blog for three and a half years, for the majority of it I was at University, so I didn’t spend as much time doing it then. I am now in a place where I am ready to learn about how to make money from my blog. I think the only thing I can suggest is it takes time; don’t think you will earn straight away. Dedication, time and patience will take you a long way. 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?  Definitely learning the technology part to blogging, it doesn’t come easy, but I never give up! There is always a solution. 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging?  My degree in Photography! My English teacher at college actually told me that I would never make it to University, so hah I proved him wrong didn’t I! 10. Who is your blogging hero And Why?  There are definitely too many to name, a lot of people inspire me for different reasons. I always think it’s important to learn from others. 11. What advice would you give to a new blogger starting out?  My advice would be to be patient. Hard work pays off, most people don’t realise how much work goes into blogging. Learn as much as you can and implement it. Always be kind to yourself and most importantly batch task your content! 12. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with  I have worked with a few brands on a gifted basis, one being Dermalogica. Meet the blogger - Toti and Alessia
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with  Toti and Alessia who runs italian trip abroad blog. 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog? Hello everyone, we are Toti and Alessia, an Italian travel couple based in London. From our name Italian Trip Abroad you guessed right, as we are coming from the beautiful country in Southern Europe. Our blog is written in English, and soon will come in Italian too. We are coming from two different backgrounds. Toti was a journalist back in Italy and Alessia only studied 4 languages at the school. We moved to the UK in two different periods and we met for the very first time in a coffee shop. Crazy isn’t it? It looks like it meant to be and today we are working together to keep up our business. Italian Trip Abroad started in 2017 but at the beginning was only Toti doing everything as it was his passion but after one year, when we understood that we wanted to make it our job, Alessia came over and started to learn everything. 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? What inspired at the most is to share our trips with family and friends, obviously. But also we were moved to share our journeys while travelling with other expatriates. Also, having a background in journalism and marketing, Toti was looking for another chapter in his life. It turned that it was matching passions and desire to discover a new culture of Alessia. A perfect mix match was born. But it took us quite a few time to realize that it could be a proper full-time job. 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? As a couple, we motivate each other. We love our job and thanks to our passion for writing and photography we keep up our site in the best way. Of course, like everyone, we have our NO days, but life is one and if you make your passion your job you won everything. 4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? Alessia, as the Social Media Manager of Italian Trip Abroad, she spends a lot of time on the Social platform and interacting with our followers very often. She always tries to keep them up to date with what’s going on in our life and on our blog. We are active 24/7 on our channels, now with the new platform TickTock, we are even busier. Running it as a full-time job, we have a set routine every day. Toti is the Earlybird at home, having a nice breakfast and straight on the desk, reply to emails, video calls and cutting down the daily to-do list. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? Alessia was working a lot to find the best strategy for it and today, we can say that she found it. For getting more users to our blog we use mainly Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. Surprisingly we discovered that Twitter has got a really good community. Pinterest market is the strongest one as with a good impression Pin you can transport the user to your blog. Traffic to our blog is making us a valuable income that is keeping us going. 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Absolutely yes, but only if they want to and not because it is “trendy”. Having a blog and working on it, it might be not easy, but if you really like it you can start your own business. Just to give you an example, Toti loves coding and finding new graphics for our website and this passion that he has got makes him stay on his laptop for hours. We don’t do that because we run a business, but now is our business that is running us to discover the world and talk about our experiences. 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? It can be an easy way to make money if you have a good audience. Affiliate marketing is today, one of the top topics in this industry. After working hard and achieving a higher audience, we were taken into consideration of brands. Today, if we are making money, it is thanks to our tenacity to don’t give up. Find your niche, engage with your audience and what you love, not just what they want to see. 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? The challenging moment of our blogging career was a year ago. When we were on the edge to switch from a full-time job in London, to an uncertain occupation travelling the world, our legs were shaking. A lot. But looking back at the past, we have to say thanks to our strength and to have each other. On the edge is not easy to be lucid and take the correct decision. But looking at that day, we are glad and don’t regret any judgment. 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? Obviously our life, blogging is part of our journey but what is behind the scene that is important. We are not achieving blogging career, but memories that last long. We met each other and this is one of the best achievement for us. 10. Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why? We have seen so many great creators out of there, and watching from the bottom for so long. We don’t talk about the hero, because they are others, who save lives. We have met great people out there and learned a lot, thanks to the blogging path. People we get inspired daily, also because they are our friends now. We get inspired mostly from newspaper well known in the market like Condè Nast and Lonely Planet. 11. What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out? Never give up as with the right resources and time you can achieve what you want. For example, Alessia only studied languages back in Italy and she had no idea about Social or Marketing Strategies. Thanks to her passion to learn and her tenacity today she is working as a Social media consultancy for other clients. If you really want to archive something you can. 12. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with Yes, we did. We ran a few campaigns for Trentino, Sri Lanka and Hamburg tourism board last year and this year we managed to work with Mapiful and St. Christopher Inn for a Social Campaign on Instagram. 13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? Blogger Magazine is a good resource for bloggers. You will know a lot of fellow bloggers out there you never heard about. What we like at the most is that is giving us insights on other business over our niche about Travel, so we can find news about business, fitness or fashion too. Meet The Blogger – Sara
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Sara who runs  No foundation please  blog. A blog besides being successful or not, It will stay a great memory. 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog? I'm originally from Italy and I moved to London in 2012. Moving to a new city gave me joy and hard time. This city opened up my mind and gave me the contents to feed my blog... I started to be interested in traveling, which I wasn't before. I did my first trip alone. (Oh, there is a lot to say about it). I slowly found my feet in London and I started to discover it. I took(& still take) many photos of London and I still have neighborhoods to visit. Then looked back to this all experience and thought I could share it on a blog & helping others 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? My willing to share and help others to discover a little coffee shop in town or a remote village in a corner of the world or even explain how to settle down once they expat. 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? I feel a flame on my chest that burns me down, like if my soul is telling me to share it. We are in 2020, internet can give almost all the answers, people gives the heart. That is what keep me motivated, I believe in good gesture. I truly believe in Karma. I see no reason, why I should't let you know about my discovery. 4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? Since Covid-19 everyday, when I was working full time I couldn't do it as much as now. This pandemic is making me think about finding a new part time job. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? I don't think I have enough knowledge to answer to this question. Following my intuition I guess is being active as much as possible, engaging and building up a followers community that become more sort of friends rather than a simple follower. 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Yes, indeed. A blog besides being successful or not, It will stay a great memory. Blogs substitutes the old little diary (secret diary). Giving the opportunity to open up the own world to others. 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? Well, if they see blogging as a money maker than they are missing the point. I would love to make money from it and be able to forget about my job in hospitality, but I started my blog because I want to pass my message to the community. Money comes after. (If it happens). 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? First was choosing the platform, I started on Blogger and recently moved to Wordpress. After was the SEO. Now is finding readers. 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? Accepting and understanding that perfection doesn't exist. I left many things behind in the past, because I couldn't make it perfect. (I started at least 3 blogs in the past, they were never right and I lost my motivation sooner than later.) No, I'm free and I can pursue my passions. 10. Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why? I never had a Hero in my life. It's strange, I know. I think it's because when you have a Hero, you will do your best to become like them, loosing your own personality. However, there is a Blogger that I like to read. We used to work for the same company then Dominika left the job to become a full time blogger. This is inspirational for me. Her blog is called The Blonde Flamingo (theblondeflamingo.com/) 11. What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out? Before to start with the platform. Go to your favorite coffee shop/corner of the house and start to have a vision of your blog. Which features you want your page to have, contents, niche, photos... More you plan ahead less you will be swept away from all the new information that you will find on your way. 12. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with No 13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? It's great, especially for new bloggers. Finding such a valuable community makes me feel that I'm not alone. I use it as reference point. I can ask for help and I find support. Members are friendly and very prompt to interact each other. Meet The Blogger - Dhreen Tulsiani
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Dhreen Tulsiani who runs The Money Casa blog. 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog? My name is Dhreen Tulsiani and I live in Toronto, ON, Canada. My blog, The Money Casa, is a place where you can learn, discover and understand more about money and finances. 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? Money is something all of us need. No one can do without it. I realized that there are many people out there desperately looking for ways to make money, save money and make better financial decisions. I wanted to help people by sharing the knowledge that I have about money and finances. This is exactly what inspired me to start this blog. 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? The niche of the blog - Personal Finance, is what keeps me motivated to keep my blog running. What’s unique about this niche is that you can never run out of ideas. I am always excited and motivated to share new ideas with my audience to help them make better financial decisions. 4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? I post new content once a week, every Monday. I feel that Monday’s are the days when everyone starts to get serious about work. After all, every Monday is the beginning of a new week. What better way to start off a new week than with new ideas about money? I communicate with my followers several times during the week by email and through social media posts. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? The best social media strategy is to post very often, at the very least 5 times per day. This is essential to attract more visitors to a blog. 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? In one word, YES! There are so many reasons I can think of right off the bat. Here are some: 1. With a blog, you can share your thoughts and ideas with others and get their feedback. This allows for open communication. It also presents an opportunity to find like-minded people. 2. You can monetize your blog by displaying ads on your blog as well as by creating sponsored posts. 3. You can unleash your creativity with your blog. You can literally design it the way you have always wanted to design a website. It’s like having a blank canvas ready to be painted on. 4. You get exposure on the internet. You can become a famous blogger. Your blog can become famous too. All of this can lead to higher paying opportunities. 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? It is very much possible to make money through blogging. Is it easy? It depends on how you look at it. If you absolutely love and enjoy blogging, then you would, without a doubt, find blogging (and making money through it) an easy thing to do, because you would have fun doing it. If you do not like and enjoy blogging, then blogging (and making money through it) will not be easy at all for you. Here is a tip for those interested in making money through blogging: if you are planning to blog for the sole purpose of making money, then don’t do it. You would not enjoy blogging and you will definitely not find it to be easy. However, if your purpose and intent is to CREATE VALUABLE CONTENT and if you enjoy doing that, by all means, get started right away. 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? I would say the most challenging moment in my blogging journey was when I was getting started. I was in the same boat as many others are who want to start a blog but have no idea how to do it. However, after much contemplation, I took the plunge last year and went right into it. I figured out so many things on the way. I have learned so much through my own research and trial and error. I still have so much more to learn. But after I got started, I felt relieved knowing that at least I have a platform now. So if you want to start a blog, just get started! Don’t think much as doing so will only take up a lot of your time. Figure things out on the way and you will succeed in your blogging journey. 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? I have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering! That is my greatest achievement outside of blogging! 10. Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why? I don’t have a blogging hero. I just don’t know.. am I supposed to have a blogging hero? 11. What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out? Make sure to select a niche that won’t disappear in the coming years and that you won’t be bored of soon. 12. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with I have not collaborated with brands yet, but that is something I would like to do next in my blogging journey. 13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? BloggerMagazine is a community of bloggers. I think it is an amazing place to learn more about different bloggers out there and to connect with them. Meet The Blogger - Angela Gala
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Angela Gala who runs Musalley blog. Based in Italy. Museums and the power of being online 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog? My name is Angela and I’m a museum professional from Italy. Passionate about the development of the world’s most precious museums and historical sites from a young age, I hold a B.S. in Economics and Management for Arts, Culture and Communication from Bocconi University in Milan and a M.A. in Museum Studies from the University of San Francisco. While living in California, I interned and worked at different museums in the areas of Visitor Services & Education Programs. I relocated to Paris in May 2017, where I founded the blog Musalley and the @imamusaller movement shortly thereafter. Musalley is an online platform that brings museums and museum lovers together; its aim is to inspire the Millennials in their museum adventures. Today, I live in Rome, where I spend my time blogging and doing research. 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? I started Musalley about three years ago because I noticed there was a gap between museums and the younger crowds. The blog’s aim, in fact, is to fill this gap, giving relevance to museums from the unique perspective of a millennial audience. 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? It’s simply what I do, what I like to do and what (I think) I do best, so it kind of comes naturally. I don’t think much about it, really. 4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? On the blog, I post every last Friday of each month (« Friday Heirloom ») while on Instagram I post three times a week. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? Promotion on all social media channels is necessary for getting more visitors, but also making sure the content is good and relevant in the specific time it is posted. The help of bigger blogs and bloggers can also be important when it comes to visibility and growth. 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Absolutely! It is a way to practice writing, test ideas and make lifelong friends! 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? Well, yes, blogging can be a way to make money online but I think you should not do it for the money. Focus on your message, on being truthful to yourself, and success may follow… 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? Interesting question at the age of Covid-19! This is definitely the most challenging time for me as I can’t explore the museums around me (and being online makes me anxious). 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? I guess the fact that I’m fluent in three languages. 10. Who is your blogging hero And Why?   Wow, this is a hard one. I guess Nina Simon and their blog Museums 2.0 (today authored by Seema Rao). 11. What advice would you give to a new blogger starting out? Do your research! See what’s already out there and create something of value that slightly differs from it. Don’t reinvent the wheel. 12. Have you collaborated with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with Sometimes. But I mostly like doing my own thing… Last year I’ve worked with the American Alliance of Museums and I loved it. 13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? I love BloggerMagazine!
