i decided to do just winter knits during summer so theyd be ready when the cold starts and i guess it worked in theory but im almost done with this aran weight wool sweater and having to have the entire thing sit on my lap while i finish up the first sleeve is being. logically. not a pleasant experience

#miik knits #this is like the last planned project i have left after this its time to get some new patterns and yarn #so im really speedrunning through it cause im sick and tired of working with this yarn #ive enjoyed the project a lot but like its a plain stockinette oversized sweater #the most ive had to thought during this pattern was with the sleeve decreases i decided to add #as for future projects i have no idea what i wanna do next cause ive had my eye on this really nice jacket with a zipper but it uses boucle #2 strands actually plus another one of normal yarn so i guess ill have to wait until i get paid to go for that one #i wouldnt mind another cotton cardigan those are always nice and useful and most importantly cheap

Omg 🥺 that's so amazing!!! My main plan is to knit the storm sweater by petite knit before Christmas.

Rn I am in a test knitting group for a sweater called the Siwol sweater, for south Korean designer Cookie The Knitter. I'm knitting in pale yellow peer gynt by Sandnes Garn !

I am also knitting some Christmas gifts, mostly hats. I am knitting myself some very fluffy brushed alpaca accessories... A pale blue extremely fluffy fat fur hat, and pink fingerless mittens. I want to knit fair aisle colorwork or boucle mittens for myself too... if I have time !! for later winter, early 2024, I want to knit a big colorwork yoke. I am thinking the super Selene by Anne Ventzel

But mine would have a dusty pink body. I have a huge quantity of pink unspun yarn that I think would make a really big cozy jumper like that one.

Vogue Knitting, Spring/Summer 2023

This issue has you ready for warmer days with no-sleeve and short sleeve looks. The most playful is the Popsicle by Mari Lynn Patrick who calls it a quick knit although it is a 3 out of 4 for difficulty. It has asymmetrical shoulders and ribbing through the body. It is done up in Anzula Vera which is a sport-weight yarn made of silk and linen, and that lovely rosy color is called Blush.

My favorite because of its vintage look is the eyelet patterns Campanula by Deborah Newton, a fitted polo collared pullover done in a taupe. 3 out of 4 for difficulty, it is done up in Skacel ALB Lino, also a sport-weight yarn and made of a blend of wool and linen.

A section of paired sweaters--one simple one dolled-up--gives us the strapped v-neck called The Artist by Melissa Leapman that is a 2 out of 4 for difficulty. It uses Blue Sky Fibers Skinny, a worsted weight cotton yarn and appears opposite a plain v-neck also by Leapman. Similarly, the ruffled sleeves on a charcoal grey, crewneck pullover accompany a plain crewneck. The ruffled version is called The Muse, and is 2 out of 4 for difficulty. It is made in Berroco Luca yarn, a worsted weight cashmere and cotton blend, and both are by Norah Gaughan.  

Vista is the cream-colored tunic is by Lavinia Voiculescu in Cascade Hampton which is a DK-weight yarn in a blend of cotton and linen. Although the eyelet pattern makes it look complicated, the shape is very simple and the difficulty is only 2 out of 4.

Lastly, on the cover is The Dancer by Donna Estin which is made up of a boucle yarn, hence all the appealing texture, The yarn is called Curiosity by African Expressions which is blended wool, polyamide and mohair which is also a DK weight yarn and the pretty blue color is #9112. The sweater is a 2 out of 4 for difficulty.

Yesterday at the mill they had hand dyed Boucle yarn (kind of a fuzzy/bumpy yarn) and I am so tempted to finally make the Lisse (RAVELRY LINK) by Kindred Red from PomPom Quarterly with it.

Gem tone colors, a variegated color in the inside? I’m mentally drooling. 😅 (Neon isn’t my vibe, but I still love it.)

Honestly, this whole issue (issue 36, Spring 21) slapped. I want to make the vest and the Crux sweater and this one. It’s one of the few pubs I actually bought that isn’t an amigurumi book.

It might also be fun with that assigned pooling yarn - where there’s one short segment that’s a different color that lasts a few stitches. I have some that has a rainbow plugged in. Definitely would want a tonal to tone it down inside, but dayum that’d be fun - rainbow blocks with little rainbow flashes everywhere.

…..actually, I have grey and color pooling yarn that would be perfect for this. I was going to do a striped sweater (it’s 12 colors), but I bet I could do both…..get a grey to go inside…hmmmmm.

Do I need three knit housecoats? 🫣

….see now I REALLY need to get my craft room sorted so I can do these projects.
